Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs made waves at a public event without Taylor Swift. She’s busy with wedding planning, of course.
On Wednesday, February 4, Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs made a public appearance at an event while his future wife, Taylor Swift, stayed at home. Swift, of course, has a lot of wedding planning to do, so she can’t be by Kelce’s side for every occasion.
The tight end dropped out of the 2026 Pro Bowl games, which took place on Tuesday, February 3, in San Francisco. At the time, there was talk about his absence being wedding related, but as it turns out, Kelce picked up another commitment that was scheduled the day after, on Wednesday, February 4, at the WM Phoenix Open Pro-Am.
The WM Phoenix Open Pro-Am offers golfers “the opportunity to participate and enjoy the excitement of one of the year’s most outstanding Pro-Am events,” according to the event’s official website. “For years the Annexus Pro-Am has captured the interest of players, participants and spectators alike.”
So, Kelce turned down the chance to appear at the 2026 Pro Bowl, which is the league’s annual all-star event with both skills competitions and flag football, to golf. But, he’s probably played enough football for a lifetime, so we’re okay with his decision. Now, Kelce is drawing attention for what he did at the event.
Kansas City Chiefs’ Travis Kelce Makes Waves at the WM Phoenix Open Pro-Am
So, Kelce got his golf game on participating in the WM Phoenix Open Pro-Am. There, he was paired with Scottie Scheffler on the front nine and Brooks Koepka on the back nine. Scheffler is ranked No. 1 statistically in the world golf ranking, according to research, and Koepka is a former No. 1-ranked golfer. So, Kelce is competing against the best in golf.
“Each year, the Annexus Pro-Am transforms TPC Scottsdale into a must-see showcase where PGA TOUR stars share the fairways with championship athletes, entertainers, and cultural icons,” the event said in an official statement.
Organizers added, “The 2026 edition is no different, bringing together a lineup that spans Super Bowl champions, Olympic legends, MLB All-Stars, and fan-favorite personalities — all teeing it up alongside some of the best golfers in the world.”
Kelce made his appearance, sans Swift, and he got a round of applause as he teed off on the first hole. In a post on X shared by Jordan Spurgeon of Sports 360 in Arizona, Kelce is seen teeing off with cheer around him. “Travis Kelce tees off with a large crowd following him,” Spurgeon stated in the post.
A-List Athletes at the 2026 WM Phoenix Open Pro-Am
Other athletes that participated in the 2026 WM Phoenix Open Pro-Am included Trey McBride, Emmitt Smith, Mookie Betts, Budda Baker, Michael Phelps, Zaven Collins, Larry Fitzgerald Jr., Carli Lloyd, Alex Bregman, Cal Raleigh and Merrill Kelly.
Those looking to get a glimpse of Kelce in action on the golf course will have to scour the web. There was no official broadcast of this Pro-Am event, but highlights will air on the Golf Channel.
The Golf Channel also took to X to share a clip of Kelce’s involvement. “Scottie Scheffler (and) Travis Kelce at the WM Phoenix Open,” the post stated, showing Kelce teeing off.
