Cody Simpson has taken to social media to update his fans on a career change.
The 28-year-old singer-turned-competitive swimmer appears set to leave the pool behind and make a return to recording music once more.
In a message to fans on Tuesday, Cody made a cheeky reference to the Zac Efron comedy 17 Again, in which a 30-something man gets a chance to relive his teen years.
Posting a video to Instagram, Cody, wearing a grey T-shirt, boutique sunglasses, and a black baseball cap, captioned the clip with his exciting news.
‘Update: It’s 2 days after Christmas 2025, and I’m at the airport waiting for my flight back to LA to sign a new record deal and restart my music career,’ he said.
He added: ‘And I truly feel 17 again.’

The Commonwealth Games gold medallist previously admitted to finding a newfound passion for music, three years after he released his last album.
Cody rose to fame in 2009 as a preteen after uploading clips of him singing to YouTube, which helped launch his musical career.
The singer moved to Los Angeles in 2010 to record music with Atlantic Records, cutting albums at Village Studios in West Los Angeles and performing at the Malibu Guitar Festival and The Troubadour in recent years.
He later became a professional swimmer in 2019 and won a gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
He put his music career on hold to try and earn a place at the Paris Olympics with the Australian swimming team, but was ultimately unsuccessful and returned to performing.
The Gold Coast-born performer is dating fellow Australian swimming champion Emma McKeon.
The pair went public in July 2022, with Cody praising Emma’s influence on his transition to professional swimming.

Both have supported each other at major events, including the 2022 Commonwealth Games, where Emma achieved record-breaking success.
They’ve also been spotted enjoying downtime together, from beach outings to attending social events and loved-up dates in romantic locations around the world.
Cody has even spoken about marriage potentially being on the cards.
‘We have something that is beautiful, honest and pure,’ he revealed, adding that marriage was possible down the line.
