Maxx Crosby of the Las Vegas Raiders says he’s back with the team, but a report leaves the door open for the Dallas Cowboys.
The Dallas Cowboys have been one of the teams discussed in tandem with trade pitches for Las Vegas Raiders edge Maxx Crosby, and even though Crosby says he’s playing with the Ravens for the 2026-27 season, that’s not necessarily guaranteed, according to an ESPN report that surfaced on Sunday, March 15.
Crosby’s journey this offseason has been anything but normal. The edge was traded to the Baltimore Ravens in a blockbuster deal only to have that deal reversed on Tuesday, March 10, when the team pulled out and signed Trey Hendrickson instead. Before the Ravens trade, the Cowboys had been in the mix to get Crosby, so it was expected that they may enter the chat again.
When Crosby became available again, the NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero commented that the team was still interested. “I would specifically say the other team that was in it at the end, as we’ve reported, is the Dallas Cowboys,” Pelissero said at the time. “I am told the Dallas Cowboys would still be interested in a Maxx Crosby trade.”
So, where do things stand today? The answer may not be as clear-cut as once thought.
A Maxx Crosby Trade, Including to the Dallas Cowboys, Is Still Possible, NFL Analyst Says
Anything is possible in the NFL, and on Sunday, March 15, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN had some unexpected comments about Crosby. The edge has made it clear that he’s back with the Las Vegas Raiders for the 2026-27 season, but Fowler said that could still change.
During an appearance on SportsCenter on Sunday, according to Bleacher Report, Fowler said that even though Crosby says he’s back with the Raiders, Las Vegas could still trade him.
“Everybody seems like they’re in a good spot, but since they’ve already looked at trading, they’re open to that possibility, potentially, if the right offer would come,” Fowler said on the show. “We’re looking at timelines here; now is gonna be a little slow, but you get closer to the draft, perhaps trade offers will heat up, or even maybe closer to the season.”
He added, “But right now, he’s a Raider, and that’s expected for at least a little while.” So, if this move were to happen, it may be down the road, but it leaves the door open for the Dallas Cowboys or any other NFL team to still consider trading for him.
During the 2025-26 NFL regular season, according to NFL research, Crosby recorded 73 total tackles, 10 sacks, 28 tackles for loss and one interception.
Maxx Crosby Deleted His Farewell Message to Las Vegas
Crosby has faced a whirlwind of emotions over the past few weeks. After the news of his trade to the Ravens broke, the player took to social media on Saturday, March 7, to say farewell to the Raiders.
“Raider Nation has given me everything,” Crosby said on X. “My family, had the chance to get married, have the most beautiful daughter in the world, grow as a man, as a player, as a leader, a human being.”
But, he deleted the farewell posts on all of his socials after the trade was a flop. So, now, the league waits to see if the Raiders do field any new requests for him, whether that’s now or at a later date.
