Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell addressed the team’s pass rush after an historic day against the Baltimore Ravens.
Two-time MVP Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson continued some of his previous Monday night success in Week 3 against Dan Campbell and the Detroit Lions. He completed 10.7 yards per pass with three touchdowns and zero interceptions.
But the Lions defense did a terrific job of containing Jackson in the run game. Detroit sacked the Ravens signal-caller seven times and held him to 35 rushing yards.
The seven sacks against Jackson tied a career high. The last time he took that many sacks was four years ago against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Behind those seven sacks, the Lions defeated the Ravens 38-30 in Week 3. Campbell shared after the win how proud he was of his pass rush.
“Those guys were very disciplined. They played off each other. They casted the net; they closed the net,” Campbell said. “We didn’t have anybody jump up in the air, ill-advised diving. Man, they all bottled him up. They were disciplined. And guys made huge plays. He had nowhere to go, and that’s the key.”
2023 Pro Bowler Aidan Hutchinson posted his second sack of the season. But it was a total group effort for the Lions, who were playing without starting edge rusher Marcus Davenport for the first time in 2025.
“It takes everybody doing their job, and our guys did that,” Campbell added. “It was good.”
