Decision Desk Calls GA Senate Runoff – HotAir

As I write this only 57% of the vote has been tallied in the Georgia GOP Senate runoff between Mike Collins and Derek Dooley. As Ed pointed out earlier, Collins was endorsed by Trump while Dooley was endorsed by Gov. Kemp. At the moment, Collins has a decent lead which seems to be growing as more rural votes come in. In any case, Decision Desk has seen enough. They called the race for Collins shortly after 8 pm.

There are once again a bunch of stories about whether or not Trump’s endorsements have any impact on these races, but so far the answer seems to be yes.

CNN has now joined Decision Desk in calling the race for Collins.

Both Trump and Kemp endorsed Burt Jones for the gubernatorial race. Jones came into today’s vote trailing his opponent Rick Jackson in the early vote. As I write this with 65% of the vote in Jackson holds a 10% lead over Jones, 55-45. I noticed this suggestions that Jones would need to win today’s vote by about 12% in order to pull of an upset.

The NY Times is reporting that Jones is doing much better in the election day vote. If these figures are accurate then he’s probably winning that by about 10%.

In Georgia’s Republican runoffs, Mike Collins and Burt Jones are performing significantly better in Election Day votes than they did among early voters in their respective primaries. Only about 100,000 election day votes have been reported thus far, compared with roughly 300,000 advance votes, but the the shift is notable…

Jones received around 40 percent of the early vote but is pulling roughly 55 percent of Election Day ballots.

For Jones, the shift could reflect the effect of President Trump’s late endorsement, which came just days before the runoff.

I’m not making a prediction, but Jones appears to be a bit short of what he needs at the moment. No calls in this race yet.

Finally, the tally in the Senate Runoff in Alabama between Barry Moore and Jared Hudson is only just getting started. As I write this on 3% of the vote is in so it’s too early to tell anything. I’ll post updates below as things develop.

Update: The GA gubernatorial race between Jones and Jackson has narrowed, but with 87% of the vote in, Jackson still leads by 6 points.

Editor’s Note: The 2026 Midterms will determine the fate of President Trump’s America First agenda. Republicans must maintain control of both chambers of Congress.
