Disney World has come under fierce fire for charging over $20 for a milkshake.

The Orlando, Florida-based theme park has continuously made headlines in recent months due to its rising ticket, food and merchandise prices.

Most recently, fans were left outraged over the cost of food at its newest dining location.

Earlier this week, a dessert eatery called Crazyshake by Black Tap opened at Disney Springs, but the treats come at a steep price.

Classic milkshakes start at $12 while specialty shakes range from $17.50 to $24 (plus tax) for the ‘Special Edition Mickey Shake.’

And many people were not happy that they would have to fork over so much money for one of the drinks, and they took to social media to slam Disney.

‘Insane prices,’ one person wrote in a comment on Instagram.

‘Hard pass. All these shake places that are going for an “aesthetic” generally have a weak and overpriced product,’ said another.

‘Whoa! $17.50? Remember in Pulp Fiction when Vincent (John Travolta) was amazed that Mia (Uma Thurman) ordered a $5 milkshake, like it was all the money in the world?’ read a third message.

On a Facebook post when someone asked: ‘Would you pay $20 for [a milkshake] at Disney World?’ it generated even more backlash.

‘Never,’ announced someone else, while a different user agreed: ‘Not a chance.’

The Special Edition Mickey Shake, which costs $24, is described as a strawberry shake with a vanilla-frosted rim and Mickey Mouse sprinkles topped with a homemade Mickey Mouse-shaped crisped treat, white and red rock candy, whipped cream, red sprinkles and a cherry.

It comes just as Disney raised the prices of its Rapid Refillable Mugs from $21.99 to $22.99.

The 16oz cups offer Disney guests unlimited refills – including soda and coffee – at any Disney hotel for 14 days. And while $1 may seem small at first glance, it quickly adds up for large families.

It’s just the latest in a long line of price increases at the Most Magical Place on Earth.

For the first time in Disney history, the price of a one-day ticket to the Magic Kingdom will cost more than $200 during the peak dates in 2026

To put things in comparison, back in 2016, ten years ago, a one-day adult ticket to Magic Kingdom ranged from $111 to $132 depending on when you went.

And that’s not including the prices of food, merchandise, hotels, flights, parking and other add-ons like the Lightning Lane – Disney’s premium skip-the-line service – which have all also seen subtle price hikes in recent months.

According to Inside the Magic, Disney resorts underwent a price increase in 2026 ranging from four percent to seven-and-a-half percent depending on the hotel.

The Lightning Lane Multi Pass increased from $39 to $45 on peak days (that’s another $180 for a family of four).

Parking prices also went up from $30 to $35 for non-resort guests, which brings the total for a family of four visiting the parks on a peak day with parking and Lightning Lanes to a whopping $1,420.

Last fall, the park also came under fierce fire after it raised the prices on ‘hundreds’ of its menu items, per WDWNT.

Pretzels went from $7.99 to $8.49, popcorn rose from $5.69 to $5.99, a bottled SmartWater jumped $6 to $6.25 and a soda increased from $5.29 to $5.50, amongst other things.

Disney’s merchandise has also become more expensive, with WDWNT reporting that a set of classic Mickey ear headbands rose from $34.99 to $36.99.

In addition, Disney was furiously slammed online after it announced a shocking 150 percent price increase for a popular service earlier this year.

Instead of lugging all your new Disney stuff through the airport or trying to fit them in your already-full luggage, guests have the option of sending products bought in the parks home for a fee.

The cost depends on the value of the items, and for years, that fee was capped at $40.

However, it was revealed in December that Disney had increased shipping rates, and the maximum jumped from $40 to a whopping $99.99 – a 150 percent increase.

All the while, Disney has faced fury in recent years for eliminating certain perks that it used to offer to its guests ranging from free gifts to complimentary transportation.
