Famed designer Donatella Versace is slamming a new Florida hotel and restaurant with her name.
“Let me be clear. The hotel and restaurant named Donatella, located near our former family home in Miami, will never have anything to do with me or my family. To try to capitalize on our tragedy and my name for profit is disgraceful,” the fashion icon said via Instagram.
The Nakash and Vida & Estilo Hospitality groups — who turned the mansion of Donatella’s tragically killed brother, Gianni, into a hotel, the Villa Casa Casuarina, with an eatery called Gianni’s — are opening a new Miami Beach property, named the Donatella Boutique Hotel & Restaurant.
The place was profiled in Ocean Drive magazine this week.
But Donatella wants fans to know that she’s not involved in the 170-seat restaurant and six room hotel — despite the name.
A rep for the hospitality group did not get back to us when we reached out for comment.
The Nakash family behind Jordache reportedly purchased the South Beach mansion that once belonged to Gianni Versace in 2013 for $41.5 million.
Gianni bought the property in 1992, and was tragically fatally shot on its steps in 1997. The family sold it in 2000, and it operated as a private club and as a boutique hotel.
Separately, Page Six reported in March that Donatella was allegedly unceremoniously “pushed out” from her family brand when Capri Holdings, which also owns Michael Kors and Jimmy Choo announced she was stepping down as chief creative officer after almost 30 years.
