CBS Sports’ Garrett Podell slotted Oregon tight end Kenyon Sadiq to Nick Sirianni and the Philadelphia Eagles in his new 2026 NFL mock draft.
One way or another, the Philadelphia Eagles will be in search of more offensive consistency during the 2026 NFL season. The most obvious way for the Eagles to find that is better health on offense, particularly along the offensive line. But adding a playmaker such as Oregon tight end Kenyon Sadiq wouldn’t hurt.
CBS Sports’ Garrett Podell projected the Eagles to land Sadiq in the 2026 NFL Draft. Podell slotted the Oregon tight end to Philadelphia at No. 23 overall in his newest mock draft this week.
“The 2025 All-Big Ten First Team tight end led the nation in receiving touchdowns at the position with eight while primarily lining up on the line of scrimmage or in the slot. However, Oregon did give him some snaps on the outside and out of the backfield,” Podell wrote. “Sadiq is powerful on his release off the line of scrimmage, which allows him to get open on routes up the seam or on wheel routes out of the backfield. That additionally comes in handy as a blocker in the rung game.
“He’s also a weapon off a tight end screen as a receiver.”
During the 2025 season, Sadiq posted 51 receptions for 560 yards and eight touchdowns in 14 games. He had 80 catches, 892 receiving yards and 11 scores in 42 games at Oregon.
Could Eagles Draft TE Kenyon Sadiq to Replace Dallas Goedert?
Podell isn’t the first analyst to project the Oregon tight end to the Eagles. Several 2026 NFL mock drafts from CBS Sports alone predicted Sadiq as a Philadelphia target as early as the middle of the 2025 season.
It’s an easy position group to consider a target for the Eagles because of Dallas Goedert’s potential exit. Goedert is an unrestricted free agent this spring. Last year, the Eagles considered trading the veteran tight end before restructuring his contract.
Although Goedert is 31 years old, he’s still a key member of the Eagles offense that has to be replaced if he departs. The veteran tight end had a career-best 11 touchdowns in 2025.
He also had a career-high 60 catches for 591 receiving yards.
Podell warned that the Oregon tight end “needs to cut down on the drops.” But with Sadiq, the Eagles would land a younger, cheaper playmaking tight end to slide right into the lineup in Goedert’s absence.
“Sadiq could be a best player available pick for an Eagles team that could lose Dallas Goedert in free agency,” wrote Podell.
Eagles Salary Cap Situation Entering 2026 Offseason
The Eagles aren’t in a desperate salary cap situation. But entering the offseason, they have just a little more than $9 million to spend according to Spotrac. They also have a lot of key free agents who will demand pay raises.
That’s why it’s likely Goedert will be back in Philadelphia.
Fellow tight ends Grant Calcaterra and Kylen Granson will also be unrestricted free agents this March. Granted, it will be much easier to re-sign Calcaterra or Granson. But if all three tight ends depart Philadelphia, the Eagles wouldn’t be left with much at tight end.
The tight ends under contract for next season with the Eagles have three combined catches in their NFL careers.
Even if Calcaterra and/or Granson return, the Eagles could be in the tight end market during the 2026 draft. They could make a big splash at the position with Sadiq.
