Elaine Hendrix has been hospitalized after suffering an injury while competing on “Dancing With the Stars.”
The actress, 54, and her partner, Alan Bersten, had to miss “Halloween Night” on Tuesday due to her injury. Hendrix shared a video on Instagram, revealing she injured her ribs during their performance of “Defying Gravity” last week, “and today they just seized up.”
“I couldn’t move,” she said, as she spoke to her fans from a hospital bed.
An emotional Hendrix said the doctor advised her to rest for a day or two before continuing with the competition.
“I want to dance,” she said, fighting back tears and asking fans to vote for her. “I want to keep doing this.”
In her caption, Hendrix wrote that she was “devastated” to be missing “Halloween Night.”
“I was beyond excited to share what we had worked so hard on, although you’ll see a version of it,” she shared. “With your support, I’ll be back in the ballroom next week. I want nothing more.”
During Tuesday’s “DWTS” episode, host Alfonso Ribeiro shared similar information.
“She suffered an injury in rehearsal this morning,” he revealed. “Right now, she’s at the hospital being assessed.”
Bersten later appeared in the ballroom and shared a heartfelt message for his partner.
“Elaine, I love you,” he said. “I’m so proud of you and I’ll see you soon.”
The duo was scored on their rehearsal performance, and the judges — which included guest judge Cheryl Burke — gave them a 32 out of 40.
