Elon Musk's ex Grimes appears to have joined the professional networking platform LinkedIn

Elon Musk’s ex-girlfriend Grimes appears to have joined the professional networking platform LinkedIn – years after claiming the billionaire left her close to bankruptcy over legal battles.

A profile claiming to be the 38-year-old singer, real name Claire Boucher, raised eyebrows online this week with many suggesting her account is a ‘recession indicator.’

LinkedIn is described as a professional networking and career development platform. In her biography, Boucher describes herself as an award-winning music video director, a music writer, artist, engineer, singer-songwriter and inventor.

Her profile charts her musical milestones from her 2010 debut album, Geidi Primes, to her 2015 commercial breakthrough, Art Angels.

Boucher, who claims to be the CEO of the Los Angeles company Media Empire, has music production, video production, songwriting, illustration and art direction listed as her top skills.

Social media has been abuzz since Boucher’s LinkedIn account appeared, especially given that she shares three children with the wealthiest man on the planet.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one asked whether Boucher’s appearance on LinkedIn is a ‘recession indicator.’

Another wrote: ‘She needs a job.’

‘Claire Boucher eager to work,’ added a third, while another wrote, ‘No longer with the richest man. Has to seek work.’

The Daily Mail has contacted Boucher for comment.

Boucher shares three children – X Æ A-12, Dark Sideræl and Techno Mechanicus – with Tesla and SpaceX founder Musk, 54.

In 2023, she sued Musk over parental rights to their children in a California court.

Musk allegedly fought to keep the hearing closed and asked for the documents to be sealed.

The singer revealed in November 2024 that she has been in a year-long custody battle with Musk, during which time she allegedly did not see one of her children for five months.

Musk sued for custody of the children in Texas, where his businesses are headquartered.

Boucher then counter-sued, filing a ‘petition to establish parental relationship’ in a California court, typically seen as the first step in custody cases for unmarried parents.

She claimed that Musk was withholding access to her kids and even prevented them from seeing their terminally ill maternal grandmother.

A Travis County Clerk confirmed that the Texas dispute had been settled, but declined to give further details.

Boucher claimed the ordeal almost left her ‘bankrupt’ and unable to make new music.

The musician has also publicly feuded with Musk – who is the father to 11 other kids – in the past over her desire to keep their children out of the public eye.
