Erin Andrews has discussed undergoing IVF at age 47 as she opened up about her fertility struggles.
The Fox NFL sideline reporter was speaking to co-host Charissa Thompson on the latest episode of their podcast, Calm Down with Erin and Charissa.
‘I tried to do another IVF round… but it didn’t work,’ she candidly shared.
‘Here’s my whole thing. I am crazy and I am with a doctor that said, “Listen, we’ll call it when it’s time.”
‘But I am psychotic right now.’
‘I just feel like I believe my body can do it even though I know that my age — with what history says — it’s not great with producing eggs and the viability of your eggs.
‘There’s just some s**t in me that I’m like, “wait, watch me do it.” It’s like a weird addiction I have,’ she continued.
Thompson, 43, was quick to offer her reassurance and shared ‘love and respect’ that her pal is always pushing forward to achieve what she wants.

‘You wouldn’t have Mack if you didn’t have that tenacity,’ Thompson said, referencing Andrews’ son, whom she welcomed with husband Jarret Stoll via surrogate in July 2023.
‘You wouldn’t have Mack if you weren’t the person — because by the way, there were plenty of roadblocks that got in the way of him, and you were like, ‘Nope I’m doing it.’
In September 2016, Andrews was diagnosed with cervical cancer. She ultimately underwent two surgeries before she was declared cancer free in December of that year.
Fiercely dedicated to her job, she continued to work throughout the ordeal – even covering a game a day after her surgery – and kept her diagnosis a complete secret from the public until after it was over.
Andrews and former NHL player Stoll got engaged almost immediately after she beat cancer in December 2016, and they tied the knot six months later, in June 2017.
They soon decided they wanted to start a family together and have a baby, but they endured a tragic years-long fertility battle.
‘It was 10 years of hell,’ she reflected to the Today show after finally becoming a mom.
Erin explained that she began IVF almost immediately after she beat cancer, but she went through seven failed rounds and a devastating pregnancy loss before finally deciding to use a surrogate for their final egg.

‘You feel like s**t. You feel bloated and hormonal for a week and a half. The entire treatment takes such a mental and emotional toll on your body,’ she wrote in an honest essay about the experience in 2021.
‘You could go through this whole experience and get absolutely nothing out of it, that’s the crazy part.
‘It’s a ton of money, it’s a ton of time, it’s a ton of mental and physical anguish. And more times than not, they’re unsuccessful.’
Looking back, she told Today of that time, ‘I really struggled mentally. I didn’t handle it very well… I kind of tried to push it aside and act like everything was okay.’
