A new mum couldn’t help but laugh after being given a meal at hospital that looked nothing like the picture on the menu.
The woman had just given birth and was looking forward to a tasty dinner after hours of not eating but didn’t quite get she was expected.
On the menu a hearty minestrone-style soup with chicken, mushrooms, carrots, herbs, celery and spring onions in a clear broth is a white bowl was advertised.
However, she received a ‘congealed’ yellow stew with a dry bread roll and limp green beans in a ‘sad’ Styrofoam container.
The mum wasn’t too bothered by the presentation and said the soup was ‘delicious’.
A new mum was surprised by the ‘sad’ meal she was served at hospital after giving birth. she got a ‘congealed’ yellow stew with a bread roll and limp green beans
‘Hospital food since I just had my baby But it’s still so delicious!!’ she wrote in a post to the What I Asked For VS What I Got Facebook page.
Many took to the comments to congratulate the mum on her new arrival and laugh at her meal mix-up.
‘They did you sooooo dirty with that ‘soup’,’ one woman said.
‘Is the soup liquid? It looks congealed LOL’ another laughed.
‘WAIT… Is that seriously the menu picture though?!’ asked a third.
Someone jokingly offered their ‘condolences’ while another said at least the green beans are still green.
‘They really be starving us with these portions,’ one mum replied.

‘I can taste the absence of salt just by looking at this picture,’ a second wrote.
Many more mums shared their experiences of having their first meal after giving birth.
‘That first meal after giving birth just hits different. No matter what it is it tastes like heaven,’ one woman said.
‘That’s no lie! I had cold spaghetti and swore it was the best spaghetti I’d had in my entire life,’ another responded.
A cruise ship passenger had a similar experience when they ordered a fancy fruit platter to their room for a snack.
The woman thought she was ordering a complimentary platter of multiple slices of watermelon, oranges, rockmelon, and pineapple as well as grapes and strawberries from room service.
However what arrived at her door was far from what she was expecting.
A cruise ship guest was astounded when she ordered a fruit plate on room service to receive a ‘sad’ snack of just four small slices of fruit
She got a small plate with a singular slice each of pineapple, watermelon, rockmelon and honeydew.
The guest saw the funny side of the fruit salad fail and shared images of her ‘snack’ to a popular Facebook group.
‘I just embarked on a cruise for my birthday and ordered a fruit plate to be sent to my room as a lil snacky snack. The pic for ordering is so misleading,’ the traveller wrote in a post.
Thankfully, she didn’t have to pay for the ‘woeful’ snack as the cruise offered free room service at certain times of the day.
Dozens of group members slammed the kitchen staff for sending the tiny fruit plate and encouraged the guest to complain.
‘They’re missing like three fruits! I hope you didn’t pay,’ one woman replied.

‘I would call them back and say ‘I’d like it to look like the picture you guys advertised with, thanks’,’ another recommended.
Others thought it was hilarious and some pointed out the fruit slices might have been arranged to look like a sail boat.
‘Is there a chance you’re just looking at it wrong and it’s supposed to represent a boat sailing off into the sunset??? lol,’ one member asked.
‘Damn inflation really getting wild,’ joked a second while a third laughed: ‘Talk about portion control, sheesh’.
‘Looks like the person who brought it ate the little snacky snack while bringing it, sorry girl,’ another guessed.
‘Please tell me you’re joking?!’ someone else said and a second added: ‘This is so bad it’s comical.’
