Father of Keith Urban’s rumored new lover makes wedding anniversary admission amid Nicole Kidman divorce: ‘We’ve met’

So who is the ‘other woman’?

That’s the question the whole world is now asking in the wake of Nicole Kidman’s shock divorce filing this week.

News on Monday that the Australian actress’s husband of 19 years, country singer Keith Urban, had grown tired of their marriage reportedly came as an unhappy surprise to Kidman, 58.

But when she was the one to file for legal separation less than 24 hours later, it seemed to suggest that something bigger was at play.

The rumor then leaked out: Urban, 57, has allegedly already moved on with a younger new girlfriend. 

Names have been bandied around Nashville – Kidman and her husband’s primary city of residence.

And on Tuesday, an insider told the Daily Mail that the alleged girlfriend is believed to work in the same circles as Urban, in Nashville’s lively music scene. 

Now, multiple sources have said it is Urban’s blossoming relationship with 25-year-old rising country star Maggie Baugh that has become ‘the gossip all over town’ – and Baugh’s own father didn’t outwardly deny the dating speculation when called by the Daily Mail.

‘I don’t know anything about it, other than she’s a guitar player for him,’ Chuck Baugh said Wednesday.

Chuck, who lives in Florida, added that he had once met Urban during a performance last year in Las Vegas, Nevada, though he believed his daughter’s relationship with the singer to be more professional than romantic.

‘It’s more of a musician thing than a dating thing,’ he said, before notably admitting that he had ‘not heard one way or the other.’

The speculation around Baugh began in earnest on Tuesday after that music industry source claimed to the Daily Mail that Urban has already moved on ‘with a younger woman in the business’.

Online sleuths quickly turned their attention to Baugh – a Nashville singer-songwriter and classically trained violinist who’s been traveling with Urban this summer as part of his High and Alive World Tour.

Dubbed one of country music’s rising stars by both Spotify and Apple Music, Baugh already has over 370,000 followers on TikTok, where she posts videos showcasing her musical talents.

The classically trained violinist joined Urban’s touring band for his High and Alive Tour, which kicked off in May and runs throughout October

It is those videos that likely caught Urban’s eye.

He invited her to perform with him at the CMT Music Awards in April 2024 and seems to have then offered her a job in his band.

She joined him for appearances on Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel later that year. And, when Urban’s tour started this May, she joined him on the road.

Despite this week’s drama, Urban is due to perform in Hershey, Pennsylvania, on Thursday night, with a slate of shows scheduled throughout October.

Whether Baugh will join him on stage is as yet unclear.

For those unaware of the Nashville music scene, a well-placed insider described ‘Music City’ as ‘one big high school’ where – if you’re not careful – speculation can run wild.

‘That’s the gossip all over town, that Keith and Maggie have had a thing for a few months,’ the insider told the Daily Mail.

‘It’s like one big high school with rumors and innuendo, but also a lot of people know a lot of things. It is 100 percent credible that they’d be together.’

Urban and Kidman, who married in 2006, have called Nashville home for nearly two decades. The former couple purchased a $4million farm in 2008

Urban and Kidman, who were married in 2006, have called the Tennessee city home for nearly two decades.

In 2008, they purchased a $4 million farm on the outskirts of Nashville. And it’s where Kidman is now holed up with their children – Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.

Following their separation, Urban reportedly moved out of the family home and ‘acquired his own residence’ nearby, sources say.

As for Baugh, it certainly hasn’t helped that a video of her performing with Urban appeared just 48 hours before news of his separation.

The clip, posted to Baugh’s Instagram on Saturday, shows the pair performing Urban’s hit song ‘The Fighter’ at a recent concert – a song he famously wrote in tribute to Kidman.

But in the footage, Urban appears to change the lyrics to include Baugh’s name.

Instead of, ‘When they’re tryna get to you, baby I’ll be the fighter’, he changes the lyric, singing: ‘When they’re tryna get to you, Maggie I’ll be your guitar player.’

One Nashville radio professional told us he wasn’t surprised to see such strong on-stage chemistry between Urban and Baugh.

‘I know Keith. I know his mannerisms. Even if I didn’t know what I know, I’d be like, “There’s something going on here,”‘ he claimed.

‘The rumor is that it was an aspiring musician on the scene, a much-younger brunette, and she totally fits the bill,’ he added.

Both Urban and Baugh have yet to publicly address the speculation. Representatives for all parties did not respond to requests for comment.

As for Kidman, it’s understood that she is leaning heavily on her family for support.

On Wednesday, she was pictured for the first time since the split hiking on a trail with her sister Antonia in Nashville, not far from the sprawling estate she once shared with Urban.
