Gillian Anderson showed a glimpse of her cheeky side as she got measured up for her first-ever Madame Tussauds wax figure in London on Thursday.

The American actress, 57, who was appointed an Honorary Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire for her services to drama, cut a stylish figure in a mustard coloured dress for her first sitting.

She layered a cream and gold striped bomber jacket over her shoulders as she cheekily held up a blue coloured eyeball next to her eye, as the Madame Tussauds team got to work in finding the best match for her wax figure.

In another snap, the star attempted to stifle a laugh as she stood with her hands on her hips while getting her head measured.

Throughout the sitting, Gillian appeared in high spirits, laughing and joking around with the team.

Madame Tussauds London took to their Instagram account on Thursday to announce the exciting news.

Sharing a behind-the-scenes clip of Gillian’s first sitting, they captioned the post: ‘Ever wondered how a screen legend becomes immortalised at Madame Tussauds?

‘Here’s a sneak peek of Gillian Anderson’s first sitting for her figure. From The X-Files to The Crown, she’s finally coming to Madame Tussauds London – stay tuned.’

During the clip, Gillian told the cameras: ‘I’m Gillian Anderson, I’m about to have my first sitting for a Madame Tussauds figure.

‘I think I’m in denial about the aspect of seeing a second me, I’m very curious what colour hair I have.

Holding up strands of different hair colours, she continued: ‘Like that? I’m sorry, she’s just been working so hard.

‘I’m here and I’m going through all the steps, but I don’t think it’s really going to hit me until I actually see the figure itself.

‘I’m very excited, it’s a real honour. That’s me done with my first sitting. I’ve never been probed so much in my life, thank you to everybody who contributed to my probing.’

Madame Tussauds is a wax museum founded in London in 1835 by French wax sculptor Marie Tussaud.

One of the museum’s early main attractions was the Chamber of Horrors, which appeared in advertising in 1843.

Madame Tussauds is a major tourist attraction in London and displays the waxworks of famous and historical figures, as well as popular film and TV characters played by famous actors.

The wax museum has featured numerous stars, including actors like Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Angelina Jolie.

Musicians Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, and Elton John also have their own wax figures, as well as Royal family members King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

The museum has become so popular with tourists that it now has locations in cities across four continents, with the first overseas branch opening in Amsterdam in 1970.
