How Pink talks to kids about death after losing grandpa, nanny

Pink has helped her children navigate two difficult losses in recent years.

Not only did the “Trustfall” singer’s dad, Jim Moore, die of prostate cancer in 2021 after battling the disease for eight years, but her kids’ beloved nanny, Trish, also succumbed to cancer.

Pink, 43, revealed in a new interview that Willow and Jameson’s caretaker told them “she would be their angel” before she died.

“Talking about this makes me cry,” the Grammy winner admitted in her March 2023 Women’s Health cover story, published Wednesday. “She was one of the loves of our lives.”

Pink became emotional recalling how she once heard her 6-year-old son talking to Trish during a hike in a hailstorm.

“‘Trish, I know you’re up there,’” he said at the time. “‘You’ve got to make the wind stop!’”

Pink noted that Jameson regularly “walk[s] around the kitchen and go[es], ‘Hey, Grandpa, hey, Trish.’”

As for her own grieving journey, the daredevil entertainer aims to “remember all of the good things” about her complicated relationship with her father.

“I know sometimes I have a tendency to remember the bad s–t,” she explained. “I want to try to hold on to the good; there was a lot of good.”

Pink shared that she “probably [became] a bit depressed from all of the loss” in recent years, adding, “I kind of feel like we were walking around with this low-level trauma that some of us were aware of and some of us weren’t.”

The “Get the Party Started” singer, whose real name is Alecia Moore, revealed Jim’s death in a touching Instagram tribute in August 2021.

“Til forever,” she captioned throwback photos of herself and her dad slow dancing when she was a child and at her 2006 wedding to Carey Hart.

Three months later, Pink honored Jim on Veteran’s Day, as he had served in Vietnam.

“Look at my handsome Papa,” she wrote alongside a black-and-white snap of him in uniform in November 2021. “Thank you to all the women and men for your sacrifice and your service.

“They used to call him twinkle toes for dancing when he was meant to be marching in line. Hug a veteran today. Consensually of course ❤️👍🏽✌🏽❤️🥰.”
