How Tiger Woods could salvage reputation after DUI arrest

Tiger Woods may be in hot water after his car crash and DUI arrest, but there’s one way he could salvage his reputation, according to brand expert Eric Schiffer.

“Get help and tell the truth. Tiger doesn’t need another polished statement, he needs to visibly surrender to reality. To protect his reputation, he needs to kill the illusion that he still has this under control,” Schiffer exclusively told Page Six.

“Protecting his reputation starts with protecting other people from ever having to share a road with someone out of control.”

He continued: “He needs treatment and rehab is not weakness. He should hand the keys of his life to structure before the state does it for him. Tiger has to disappear from the circus and reappear only when recovery is intact.”

Woods made headlines on Friday after he was involved in a wild rollover car crash in Jupiter Island, Florida. According to authorities, the professional golfer attempted to pass a utility pressure cleaner truck when he clipped the truck’s trailer and lost control of his vehicle.

He was unharmed in the incident and was able to climb out of his Land Rover after it fell on its side.

After the incident, Woods was ultimately charged with a DUI, property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test after he declined to submit a urinalysis.

As for his reputation, Schiffer explained Woods may have a tough time regaining the favor of the public after making yet another mistake behind the wheel.

“The tragedy for Tiger is that greatness no longer buries his pattern, the pattern now stalks Tiger. The public can forgive pain, and they get far less generous when a millionaire celebrity keeps climbing behind the wheel driving like he’s allergic to judgment,” the expert shared.

“Each crash takes a giant bite out of his myth and leaves more of the man bleeding out in gushes in public. Tiger’s legacy still has some granite in it, but the trust around it looks like drywall after a shotgun blast.”

“He keeps reaching for resurrection and waking up in the same graveyard. His reputation doesn’t get blown into bits, but it limps into the morgue of serious doubts,” Schiffer said.

The expert added that Woods (seen here hitting a practice shot at the TGL finals golf tournament in March 2026) would likely struggle to get back in the public’s good graces as they “get far less generous when a millionaire celebrity keeps climbing behind the wheel driving like he’s allergic to judgment.” AP

When it comes to the golf world, the community “already knew Tiger was damaged goods,” the guru added.

“Golf always loved its legends scarred. It gets far less romantic when the scars keep coming from the same blade.”

Woods is not alone in his suffering, as his company, Sun Day Red, is also poised to face setbacks after his legal troubles.

“Sun Day Red had its logo dragged through a police report. Tiger is the brand’s oxygen. When he chokes, the logo can’t breathe. Mugshot commerce is a sugar high. Scandal can move product and poison the bloodstream of a premium brand,” Schiffer said.

On Tuesday, Woods appeared in court where he entered a not guilty plea in his DUI case. After showing up in court, he released a statement announcing he would be stepping away from the spotlight to “focus on my health” and seeking treatment.

“I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today,” the professional golfer shared via X on Tuesday.

“I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health. This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery.”
