I'm a fashion editor - and Clare Waight Keller's new linen collection for Uniqlo is the chicest thing on the high street right now

I don’t say this lightly, but every so often a high-street drop comes along that genuinely stops me mid-scroll – and right now, that collection is the latest from UNIQLO’s elevated line, designed by none other than Clare Waight Keller.

If you’re not already familiar, UNIQLO : C is the brand’s more premium, fashion-forward offering – and this season, it’s delivering exactly the kind of understated luxury pieces I’m always hunting for. The focus? A tightly edited capsule of just three items, all crafted from 100% premium linen. Simple, yes – but that’s precisely the point.

Let’s start with the fabric. Linen can be hit or miss on the high street, but this feels like the good kind – the kind that gets better with wear, drapes beautifully and gives that effortless, just-threw-this-on energy that we all want our summer wardrobes to have.

The collection itself is refreshingly concise: a blazer, a waistcoat and a pair of trousers. That’s it. No unnecessary extras, just three impeccably cut pieces that work as a full suit or as separates you’ll reach for on repeat.

The blazer (£99.90) is where I’d start. It’s double-breasted with a relaxed fit that feels modern rather than oversized, striking that perfect balance between polish and ease. It’s the kind of jacket you can throw over a tank and jeans just as easily as you can wear it as part of the full set.

Then there’s the waistcoat (£39.90), which is more fitted and adds a slightly sharper, tailored edge. Worn on its own, it leans into that minimalist, ’90s-inspired styling that’s everywhere right now – but layered under the blazer, it instantly elevates the look.

Finally, the trousers (£49.90). Mid-rise, straight-leg and relaxed without feeling sloppy – they’re exactly what I want from a linen trouser. Comfortable enough for hot days, but still structured enough to wear into the city without feeling too casual.

And the colour palette? Equally considered. You’ve got off-white, black, brown and blue – four shades that feel timeless and versatile, and crucially, easy to mix into an existing wardrobe.

What I love most about this drop is how intentional it feels. In a sea of trend-led pieces, this is about building outfits that last – clean lines, quality fabric and silhouettes that won’t date by next summer.

In short, if you’re looking for that elusive high-street find that genuinely feels premium, this is it. And trust me – these are the kind of pieces you’ll wear far beyond one season.
