Anatasia Kingsnorth hit back at trolls that criticised her for pranking her followers by pretending to go onto the show

An influencer who pranks her fans ‘every year’ by pretending to go on Love Island has hit out against the ‘disgusting’ comments and death threats that she has received.

Anatasia Kingsnorth, from Manchester, teased her one million followers on Instagram about going on the hit reality TV show that sees singletons ‘couple up’ with each other and compete to win a £50,000 prize.

The 23-year-old often gets invited by ITV to post tours of the villa on her social media accounts to create a buzz around the show.

Usually, the series has a couple of ‘bombshells’, which refers to people who come into the house during different points in the show and cause havoc by breaking up couples.

This year, the broadcaster offered the content creator the opportunity to make her own ‘bombshell’ video of her walking into the villa and they also took official pictures of her.

Anatasia captioned the picture, which featured her in a khaki green bikini in front of a flame in the shape of a love heart: ‘I heard you’re missing a bombshell?’

She then posted a video of her walking into the villa and said: ‘Shall we stir the pot a little more?’ the influencer then posted a clip on YouTube with the title: ‘I’m going on Love Island!’

She decided to make this into a prank and told her family, friends and followers that she was jetting off to sunny Spain in search of love.

Anatasia has done this joke every season for the past couple of years and her fans quickly caught on to her prank.

Others accused her of being ‘desperate’ to go on the show, while others are frustrated with the annual trick.

She also got a huge amount of hate from trolls online who criticised her appearance and made videos about her stunt.

She took to her YouTube to remind people to ‘always be kind’ and urged those who were angry to have a ‘hard look’ at what is going on in their lives and ‘project their hate elsewhere’.

Anatasia said: ‘I’m not the type of person to let comments or hate get to me, I’ve had it [my] entire life, I’ve had everything said to me under the sun.

‘I don’t think anything can really affect me in any sort of way anymore because of how bad I’ve had it in the past.

‘Every time I get hate it reminds me of that feeling and how close to the edge I was.

‘I put my life out there for people to comment on, I don’t mind people commenting on my life, that’s part of the job.

‘But some of the comments I’ve had about my appearance and in general are just beyond horrible. I just can’t even comprehend it.’

The internet star said the hurtful comments made her feel ‘so sad’ for those on the show who come out to loads of criticism that they have never had to deal with before.

‘This is just a message to always be kind. It was just genuinely a lighthearted joke,’ she added.

‘I am so glad I did it because I looked f****** hot  in that picture and video. I look so good and I ate so hard [looked really cool].’

The star said she got ’95 per cent’ love from the prank but wanted to address the trolls who tried to bring her down.

Anatasia said: ‘I’m just avoiding TikTok and my [messages] for a couple of days because it offends a lot of people, doing pranks.

‘I know that if every single person commenting something horrible to me got that opportunity to do what I did, I know they’d do it in a heartbeat.  So I just politely think f*** off.’

The YouTuber urged people to be careful with what they say to others because they ‘don’t know what is going on behind closed doors.’

She added: ‘If something as lighthearted as that is going to affect you and cause you to have such a bad reaction that you have to say all these things to someone, then you need to take a hard look at what is going on in your life and project that hate that you have somewhere else because it is ridiculous.’

Some Instagram users were not impressed by the joke and instead questioned why she felt like she had to ‘pretend’ she was going on the show every year.

One wrote: ‘It’s actually getting a little weird how you do this every year, it’s like an inner obsession.’

Another penned: ‘This is embarrassing stop faking going on Love Island.’

A third said: ‘Another year of pretending to be on Love Island.’

A fourth commented: ‘She’s so desperate to go in.’
