Melania Trump has a designer bag collection that’s worth hundreds of thousands of dollars – with one priced at over $100,000 alone – and her library of Hermès Birkin and Kelly purses are enough to make anyone envious.
Melania, 55, has always been known for her elegant and refined style, and is not afraid to flaunt her personal taste, especially as First Lady.
These days, an Hermès Birkin from the store itself can retail for over $12,000, according to Sotheby’s, where secondhand and vintage resale can get even higher, with some as expensive as $50,000.
Just this past July, actress Jane Birkin’s original Hermès Birkin sold for $10 million at auction.
Made from materials like crocodile and alligator skins or luxe leathers with fancy names like Tadelakt and Monsieur Graine, the bags take a minimum of 18 hours to hand craft, costing the customer tens of thousands of dollars.
They’re hard to get, too, as buyers cannot just walk into any of the boutiques and ask for a Birkin right then and there.
It’s widely known that have to be offered one by your Hermès sales associate, per Fortune, and even then, customers cannot choose the exact one you’ll get.
People have proven that they are willing to pay a serious price for the bags – including Melania, who has shown off her collection multiple times during both terms of her husband Donald Trump’s presidency, and even in between.

It’s said that the mom-of-one has an ‘unrivaled’ collection of the purses that can take years to get. Of course, it’s possible that there are a few the public hasn’t even seen.

The bag, which she paired with a long, light gray Dolce & Gabbana trench coat, can be found at resale for over $12,000.
Another bag that Melania seems to love is her Hermès collection is her Matte Niloticus Crocodile Birkin 25 in Black, which she has been seen wearing on a number of various occasions.
The bag is a rarity, as it’s made of one of the luxury brand’s most coveted and expensive materials: crocodile skin.
Online, these bags can be priced on secondhand websites for over $100,000. They take hours to design, and are some of the hardest purses to get your hands on.
According to authenticated resale shop Madison Avenue Couture, it is ‘virtually impossible to be offered an Hermès crocodile or alligator handbag at an Hermès boutique without first spending six figures or more at the store.’
She famously sported the purse when she and Trump departed the White House on inauguration day in January 2021, as Joe Biden entered his presidency.

Melania paired the bag with a black, knee-length skirt and cropped tweed jacket, along with a pair of black gloves and sky-high black Christian Louboutin heels.
She also wore the purse in 2019, when she and her husband joined then-prime minister Theresa May and her husband Philip for a meeting in London, pairing it with a trench coat by Celine.
The former model also appears to own a Birkin 30 in dark burgundy leather, which she showed off hand-in-hand with her husband as they boarded Air Force One to go to Mar-a-Lago for President’s Day Weekend in 2019.
The bag is sold at resale at Madison Avenue Couture for over $30,000 – and she paired the look with a cozy cape at the time.
Though, of course, The First Lady doesn’t only stick to dark colors when it comes to her extensive Hermès collection.
