Alan Carr has admitted he saw a mental health nurse after winning Celebrity Traitors as he explained the BBC show became ‘quite stressful’.
The funnyman became victorious on Celebrity Traitors last year, winning an impressing £87,500 for a children’s neuroblastoma charity, in a final watched by about 15 million people.
Alan has now said he turned for help after the BBC series concluded as he was going straight to work on Channel 4’s Secret Genius the day after wrapping in Scotland.
Speaking to The Times, he said: ‘At the end of Celebrity Traitors you have access to a mental health nurse. I thought, I’ll go and have a look because it was all getting to be quite stressful.
‘She went, “Are you a workaholic? Why don’t you think you deserve a day off?” And I went, “I do feel like I deserve a day off but I’ve just been offered so many lovely things”.’
Referring to Ant and Dec’s hit show I’m A Celebrity, Alan said: ‘There will be a time when I can’t get any work and I’m in the jungle eating f***ing koala anus.’

The comedian added that he is currently ‘enjoying the ride’ working on a number of TV shows and is ‘really proud of his CV’.
Alan was chosen to be a Traitor alongside Jonathan Ross and Cat Burns and made it to the final with Cat, Joe Marler, 35, Nick Mohammed, 45, and David Olusoga, 55.
Viewers watched in awe and bewilderment as Alan snatched the £87,500 prize, despite his previous claims he was as bad a Traitor as series three star Linda Rands.
Alan’s surprise win came as a result of Nick and David turning on fellow Faithful Joe Marler at the last minute in a shock twist that left viewers reeling.
It comes after Alan and Amanda Holden revealed they were offered the Strictly Come Dancing hosting job after Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly left the BBC series.
The comedian and the Britain’s Got Talent judge, who host their own property series together on the BBC, revealed they were ‘flattered’ to be asked to take over from Claudia, 54, and Tess, 56.
The co-hosts of the BBC series stepped back from the show after the most recent series came to an end last December – with speculation continuing to grow about who will be lined up to replace them.
Alan, 49, and Amanda, 54, admitted they had ‘said no’ to the offer made by the BBC for them to take over as they appeared on Jessie and Lennie Ware’s podcast, Table Manners.

During the interview, the mother-and-daughter duo asked Alan and Amanda: ‘You two aren’t going to present Strictly together?’ to which the comedian responded: ‘No, we said no ages ago’.
It comes after Alan left viewers in hysterics after a clip from the new series of his BBC DIY show Amanda & Alan’s Greek Job went viral, showing him tumbling down a waterslide.
The hilarious moment came when Alan took a visit to a waterpark with his friend and co-host Amanda while renovating their latest property in Greece.
Amanda persuaded Alan to take a turn on a slide called The Black Hole, warning: ‘It’s pitch black, you won’t see anything’, to which he nervously replied: ‘That sounds awful!’
Convinced to give it a go, he joked to the lifeguard: ‘Pray for me’ before pushing himself down the long tube, while sat in a large rubber ring.
But fans were immediately left howling in laughter, as the panicked star began screaming and struggled to keep himself balanced on the ring.

Before long, the Chatty Man star was flipped head over heels out of the inflatable and came hurtling out of the tunnel, to Amanda’s guffaws.
A distressed Alan cried: ‘I tipped out! It tipped me out!’ as his friend wrapped him a towel and tried to comfort him.
However, the comic insisted he was done, saying: ‘I’m not going on anymore. It flipped me up! I hit my face on the thing.’
The moment quickly began circulating on social media, with fans on both TikTok and X declaring: ‘Alan Carr with the highlight of the year already?!’ and ‘I know it’s only January 5th but Alan Carr falling out of a rubber ring on a water slide is TV moment of the year’.
