Jada Pinkett Smith is firing back at the “nonsense” claims she threatened one of Will Smith’s former friends at a birthday party five years ago.
The “Red Table Talk” host filed a motion earlier this month demanding that musician Bilaal Salaam’s $3 million lawsuit against her be dismissed, Page Six can confirm.
Jada, 54, argued that Bilaal’s allegations were “false, uncorroborated, and made to generate attention as part of an ongoing public campaign of harassment directed at” her and the Smith family, per the docs obtained by Page Six.
The “Girls Trip” star claimed in the docs that Bilaal’s lawsuit has sought to punish her for her “constitutionally protected speech on a matter of intense public interest about her family.”
Jada also accused Bilaal of having a “fixation” on the Smith family in the newly filed court documents, and insisted that she never mentioned Bilaal’s name when the alleged incident unfolded in September 2021.
TMZ was first to report the news.
Salaam filed his $3 million lawsuit against the actress in November 2025.
The musician, who referred to himself as Will’s “best friend for nearly 40 years,” alleged that Jada confronted him at the “Men in Black” star’s birthday party at the Regency Calabasas Common on Sept. 25, 2021.
Salaam claimed that the “Matrix” actress told him that he would “end up missing or catch a bullet” if he continued “telling her personal business,” per the lawsuit obtained by Page Six.
The lawsuit also claimed that Jada launched a “retaliatory campaign” against Salaam because he refused to help with crisis management after Will infamously slapped Chris Rock at the 2022 Academy Awards.
Salaam also sued the Jada for “intentional infliction of emotional distress” because she denied to TMZ that she ever saw Will engage in sexual or intimate behavior with men.
Some of the musician’s other allegations include that he was threatened by a manager on Jada’s behalf to “work something out” and to “end this feud before you get physically hurt” regarding a memoir he was planning to release.
According to Salaam’s $3 million lawsuit, his reputation was destroyed, his health deteriorated and he suffered financial loss and emotional trauma as a result of Jada’s alleged “malicious, intentional, and reckless conduct.”
But Salaam’s recent lawsuit against Jada wasn’t the first time he made surprising accusations against Will.
Two years earlier, in November 2023, the “Bad Boys” star’s rep denied Salaam’s claim that he once caught Will having sex with actor Duane Martin.
“This story is completely fabricated and the claim is unequivocally false,” Will’s rep told TMZ in a statement at the time.
