While promoting her highly-anticipated horror sequel Halloween Ends, Jamie Lee Curtis revealed she’s open to making a much different sequel: Freaky Friday 2.

The 63-year-old actress appeared on The View on Monday, where she was asked about the possibility of a follow-up to her 2003 film with Lindsay Lohan, which itself was a remake of the 1976 film of the same name starring Barbara Harris and a teenage Jodie Foster.

Curtis revealed that she’s already ‘written to Disney’ about the possibility of a sequel, as fans approach the 20th anniversary of the remake.

Curtis was asked by The View host Sara Haines about the chatter about a possible sequel, and she admitted there has been, ‘a lot of conversation’ about the sequel.

‘I’ve already written to Disney, my friends at Disney. I’m in their new Haunted Mansion movie,’ she said of the upcoming movie slated for a 2023 release.

‘I’m 64 years old… not today, soon, in a month, whatever, my point is I’m wide open, creatively, I’m wide open,’ Curtis added.

She added that her co-star Lindsay Lohan had, ‘just made a Christmas movie,’ adding it’s ‘all good.’

‘Bring it! Let me be the grandma, let me be the old grandma who switches places, so then Lindsay gets to be the sexy grandma who’s still happy with Mark Harmon in all the ways you would be happy with Mark Harmon,’ the actress added.

‘I would like to see Lindsay be the hot grandma, and I would like to see me try to deal with toddlers today. I want to be a helicopter parent in today’s world,’ Curtis joked.

The story is based on the 1972 novel of the same name by Mary Rodgers, following a mother and daughter who inexplicably swap bodies and live each others’ lives.

The 1976 film was a hit for its time, earning $36 million at the box office from a $5 million budget.

The novel was adapted for the small screen with 1995’s Freaky Friday TV movie that aired on ABC, starring Shelly Long and Gabby Hoffman.

Curtis and Lohan’s 2003 adaptation was a box office hit, earning $160.8 million worldwide from a $20 million budget. 

Disney also turned Freaky Friday into a stage musical, with a filmed adaptation debuting in 2018.

Disney has yet to officially announce a Freaky Friday sequel, though this comes just after they released a Hocus Pocus sequel, 30 years after the original.
