Jennifer Lopez has finally addressed the viral moment when a cricket shockingly crawled up her neck during a concert performance a few months earlier.
The 56-year-old star – who had a cozy reunion with ex-husband Ben Affleck at the premiere of their new film Kiss Of The Spider Woman – recalled the nerve-wracking incident during The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday.
Lopez had taken to the stage at Kazakhstan’s Central Stadium in Almaty back in August when a large insect landed on her mid-performance.
She was nearly finished belting out a song when the cricket could be seen making its way up her chest and onto her neck in a short clip. The actress then flicked the bug away with her hand in one swift motion, sending it onto the ground.
After Fallon showed the video to the live audience, Lopez explained, ‘The thing is, I felt something right? I felt something.
‘And I was just like – I thought it was a bug that was flying around. I could see bugs in the lights, you know. You can see them.’

She continued, ‘You are outside in these venues. And I thought it was just touching me and coming back. But it was crawling.’
The performer added, ‘If you see the whole clip it is crawling up my body the whole time.’
Lopez expressed that she did feel the insect reach her neck as she tried to focus on finishing the song for fans.
‘And then finally it got to my neck. And I was towards the end of the song. And I was like – whatever it is, you know, it is just touching and going back.
‘Because it was just like little legs. Just like that,’ she said while making a crawling motion with her fingers on her neck. ‘And I was like just try to finish the song.’
Lopez continued, ‘And then I was like, it might be on me. I did not realize – I didn’t know what it was. But then I went like this and I threw it.’
Fallon then applauded the songstress of how she handled the moment by saying, ‘You nailed it. You stuck the landing, as they say.’
The On The Floor hitmaker humorously compared the size of the cricket to a ‘helicopter.’

Lopez continued, ‘And then I was like, it might be on me. I did not realize – I didn’t know what it was. But then I went like this and I threw it’
‘I saw it in the light, and it looked like a helicopter. It was the size of a a helicopter,’ the star explained.
One month before the insect incident, Lopez suffered a wardrobe malfunction as she performed a concert in Warsaw.
She had been wearing a tasseled gold skirt when the piece suddenly fell down to the floor, leaving the singer momentarily shocked.
However, the actress had been sporting nude-colored tights as well as high-waisted gold bottoms underneath.
Lopez recalled how the shimmering outfit had been made earlier that day due to a look she had been inspired by.
‘They never had the chance to do it,’ she explained, seemingly hinting that they didn’t have time to sew it together properly.
‘Didn’t really know if I was going to wear it. But I did at the last second and I go out there and the thing just falls apart.’

The singer took on a leading role in the musical drama while Affleck was one of the executive producers.
The former couple flashed big smiles as they paused for a brief photo session on the red carpet ahead of the screening.
Affleck could be seen lightly wrapping his right arm around her waist and later was spotted whispering into her ear on the red carpet.
The Oscar winner also praised his ex-wife’s performance in the film and told Extra, ‘She’s amazing in the movie.
‘I just can’t wait for you, the audience, to see the movie. I’m as proud of this movie as any that I’ve ever been involved with. I’m really excited to be here tonight.’
He further added, ‘She just was going to give it her all and she did. She worked enormously hard. You get to see all of her many gifts. She’s somebody that grew up watching classic musicals.’
Lopez and Affleck tied the knot in 2022 after rekindling their romance but the singer filed for divorce on their second wedding anniversary. Their divorce was finalized earlier this year in January.

Kiss Of The Spider Woman additionally stars Diego Luna, Tonatiuh, Bruno Bichir and Josefina Scaglione.
The musical – which was written and directed by Bill Condon – is set to hit theaters on October 10.
