A snapshot of the New York Jets being on the clock at the NFL Draft.
The New York Jets’ 2026 NFL draft haul just got even larger.
On Monday, March 9, the NFL officially announced the full compensatory pick list ahead of April’s draft. It ended up being good news for the Jets.
The green and white were awarded two bonus picks in the 2026 NFL draft. According to the league’s press release, the Jets received the No. 140 overall pick in the fourth round and the No. 179 overall pick in the fifth round.
That means the Jets are set to have 10 picks overall in the draft.
“Under the rules for compensatory draft selections, a team losing more or better compensatory free agents (“CFA”) than it acquires in the previous year is eligible to receive compensatory draft picks,” the league explained.
“The compensatory picks will be positioned within the third through seventh rounds based on the value of the compensatory free agents lost.”
Here Were the Players Lost vs. The Players Gained

According to Over The Cap, the two losses that specifically resulted in draft compensation were Reed and Moses.
Reed signed a three-year, $48 million contract to join the Detroit Lions. Moses signed a three-year, $24 million deal to join the New England Patriots.

The Jets have a pair of first-rounders: No. 2 overall and No. 16 overall. Also on day two, the Jets have another pair of second-rounders: No. 33 overall and No. 44 overall.
Gang Green doesn’t have a third-round draft choice because of the Reddick trade with the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Jets have a pair of fourth-rounders to start day three: No. 103 overall and No. 140 overall.
In the fifth round, the Jets have one selection: No. 179 overall. Gang Green has a pair of sixth-round draft choices: No. 194 overall and No. 208 overall. Finally, the Jets have one seventh-round draft choice: No. 241 overall.
Jets Historically Haven’t Done Well in Comp Pick Bingo
The NFL has been doling out compensatory picks since 1994. Some teams are better at playing the game than others.
The Jets historically have been inept in this category. According to the league’s data, the Jets have had 19 out of 1,037 possible comp picks during that period. That is tied for the third fewest comp picks of any team in the NFL.
The only teams that have fewer historically are the New Orleans Saints (18) and the Cleveland Browns (15). Before today’s results, the Jets were in second-to-last place in comp pick bingo.
Jets fans better enjoy it, because it is likely back to the doldrums in 2027. The formula is roughly based on the free agents you sign versus the free agents you lose. With how active the Jets have been so far, they aren’t expected to receive any comp picks next year.
