The Hollywood Vampires – the rock supergroup consisting of Johnny Depp, Alice Cooper and Joe Perry – is being sued by a concert promoter over a scuttled 2023 show in Europe.

The Pirates of the Caribbean actor, 62, School’s Out singer, 78, and Aerosmith guitarist, 75, were named in a federal court filing in Texas over a canceled July 2023 show.

The concert was slated to be held at the Olympic Fields in Slovakia, where the promoter is based out of, TMZ reported after reviewing court docs. Attorneys for the rock band are asking the court to toss the case.

The promoter said in the court filing that he paid the rock ensemble $277,000 in advance for their performance.

He said he has asked for the money back from the band, but not received any response on that front.

Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Depp and the Hollywood Vampires for further comment on the story.

Attorneys are asking the court to toss the case, citing personal jurisdiction issues, saying there was not a legally-sound reason for it to be heard in Texas.

The band abruptly canceled their show, the promoter said, pointing out problems with the location.

An insider close to Depp told the Daily Mail that the case was essentially about ‘a two-and-a-half-year-old matter concerning safety at the venue.’

A separate source told Daily Mail of the lawsuit, ‘The venue was unsafe, it was a collective decision to cancel the show that evening due to those reasons. All stemming from over two years ago.’

The concert promoter said in the court filing that the true reason the band didn’t play the show in question ‘was for personal reasons unrelated to the venue.’

The concert promoter in legal docs referred to a hospitalization Depp dealt with for ‘an unknown medical issue’ at the time.

The band’s canceling led the promoter to lose ‘money and [look] unreliable in the industry.’

At the time the show in Slovakia was canceled, the band put out a statement on Instagram alluding to safety issues.

‘Upon arrival today to the venue in Slovakia to begin set up for tonight’s performance, it quickly became clear that the construction of the facility was incomplete, and therefore unsafe for both the band and the general public,’ the group said on July 20, 2023.

The statement continued, ‘The band is very upset by this recent and unfortunate turn of events, and hope to return when schedules permit.’

The band said that the ‘cancelation [was] unrelated to the recent cancelation in Budapest.’

The rock ensemble is set to return to Europe with a series of concerts this summer, which will mark their return to the stage for the first time in nearly three years.

‘We’re looking forward to incredible crowds, massive energy and more unforgettable nights,’ the group said in a statement.

The supergroup was formed in 2015 and includes material in their shows from other musical legends such as The Who, Led Zeppelin and Motörhead.
