Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and his wife, Hailee Steinfeld, are having one epic year. After tying the knot in May, Allen and Steinfeld announced they were expecting their first child together in December.
When the famous couple shared the big news, Steinfeld was already well into her pregnancy. Steinfeld’s third trimester not only coincided with the NFL playoffs but also with the awards season in Hollywood.
The 29-year-old actress starred alongside Michael B. Jordan in the horror movie “Sinners.” The film not only became a major box office hit, but also racked up the most Academy Award nominations (16) in history.
Steinfeld debuted her baby bump on the red carpet at the Golden Globes in January, where “Sinners” racked up seven nominations. She joined her castmates on stage after they won Cinematic and Box Office Achievement.
Steinfeld, however, was noticeably absent from The Actor Awards earlier this month, where “Sinners” took home several awards, including the marquee prize, Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.
While fans hoped to see Steinfeld and Allen make their Oscars red carpet debut on March 15, they did not attend the award ceremony at the Dolby Theater. Jordan gave “Hailee at home” a shoutout while accepting his Oscar for Best Actor, noting how “she’s getting ready to have a baby right now. Thank you so much for being the other half of Stack.”

While “Sinners” lost out on winning Best Picture to Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battler After Another,” the movie still had a very successful night. Steinfeld sent a message to all the film’s winners via the official Instagram account of her newsletter, Beau Society.
“Congratulations to the entire Sinners crew on a historic night. It is an incredible honor to have the film recognized with a record-setting 16 nominations. So proud of this team!” In addition to Jordan’s big win, “Sinners director Ryan Coogler won the award for Best Original Screenplay, while Autumn Durald Arkapaw became the first woman in history to win for Best Cinematography. Ludwig Goransson won for Best Original Score for his work on “Sinners.”
Steinfeld shared the Academy’s black-and-white photos of all four “Sinners” winners on her personal Instagram Stories, as well.
In the March 13 issue of Beau Society, a fan asked if there’s a moment from filming or a press promo that still makes her smile, and she struggled to answer.
“I want to use a specific moment to answer this question,” she wrote. “But at this moment, being two days away from the Oscars, I know there is no one single particular moment that can encapsulate what this filming experience meant to me. These people have left a mark on me and on my heart that will never go away.”

While Allen refers to marrying Steinfeld as the most important decision of his life, he calls becoming a father his most important role.
“I’ve got siblings that have kids, I’ve got a lot of friends that have kids. I don’t know if you can plan too far in advance,” Allen told reporters in January about how they’re preparing. “I’m very much looking forward to that with my wife, of becoming a dad. It’s something that I will take with great pride.
“But this is the most important thing I’ll ever be in my life, being a dad. And I know I love being a football player, and I love being a quarterback for the Buffalo Bills. But I’m looking forward to this one.”
