Upon her return to the ABC panel show on Monday, the 83-year-old co-host explained that she had been gone for four days last week because of the ‘painful’ injury.
At the top of the episode, Behar explained that she and fellow stars Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farrah Griffin didn’t walk out onto the set like they typically do because of the incident.
‘We didn’t walk out today in sympathy of my foot,’ Behar said. ‘I broke my toe last week, last Monday.’
She describing the injury as ‘very, very, very painful,’ before adding: ‘It’s getting better.’
‘Can you tell them how?’ co-star Hostin, 57, probed.
Sharing details of how she sustained the unfortunate wound, Behar then said: ‘I dropped my iPad on my foot. That thing is heavy!’
The live studio audience let out a collective audible gasp after hearing how Behar broke her toe while fans at home also winced.
