Karl Stefanovic shocked followers on Thursday when he debuted a surprising new look.
The 50-year-old Today presenter was unrecognisable in a social media post where he flashed a garish purple suit and deep fake tan.
He also sported an enormous facial scar, receding hairline along with a new swept back hair style.
Karl daringly left his white shirt unbuttoned for the pictures, exposing a hairy chest and completed his look with black braces, matching trousers, a dark leather coat and white loafers.
Posted on Today’s official Instagram, Karl revealed in the caption that the new ‘look’ was a tribute to the upcoming Binge streaming series The Penguin — which is set to premiere on Friday.
Karl’s appearance was a dead ringer for the character Colin Farrell plays in the new series which storyline follows one week after the events of 2022’s The Batman.
The flamboyant Today host posted a gallery of pictures in the share posing as the ‘supervillain’.
One snap featured Karl lounging ‘gangster style’ on the hood of a purple Maserati in which he flaunted a phoney ‘double chin’.

‘There’s a new Kingpin in town,’ the post was captioned.
Fans appeared to enjoy the Today stars tribute to the Penguin with one follower posting: ‘This is hilarious. Kingpin Karl.’
‘Batman ain’t ready for this,’ added another.
‘Oh my god. Hysterical. Made my day,’ commented another fan.

It comes after Karl enjoyed a family getaway earlier this month.
He was all smiles on Sunday as he flaunted his physique at a Noosa beach following his European jaunt post Paris Olympics.
The Today host showed off his dad bod in a pair of footy shorts as he strolled along the sandy shore, dragging a boogie board behind him.
Soaking up the spring sunshine, the breakfast show host got in some quality time with wife Jasmine, their daughter Harper and sister-in-law Jade Yarbrough.
Jasmine, 40, had her hands full as she carried the family lunch for the day, protecting her face from the sun with a white cap pulled down low.
She slipped on a loose white shirt and flaunted her slim pins in a short black skirt as she trudged through the sand with a towel over her shoulder.

Meanwhile, Jade, 31, was every inch the doting aunt as she carried Harper, three, on her hip while rocking black skintight athleisure wear.
Harper is the only child Karl shares with Jasmine, as the media personality has three other children, Jackson, Willow and River, with his ex-wife Cassandra Thorburn.
The young tot looked adorable in a pink bathing suit which perfectly matched her wide brimmed bucket hat.
Karl and his family arrived back in Australia two weeks ago after a lavish European getaway following the 2024 Paris Olympics.
They made the most of being in Europe and enjoyed a sun-soaked holiday after Karl’s stint presenting from Paris for Channel Nine’s coverage of this year’s Olympics.
They travelled to celebrity hotspot Saint Tropez where Karl was reported to have had a ‘highly secretive’ 50th birthday party with a huge price tag.
According to Woman’s Day, Karl booked out a ritzy hotel and invited the likes of James Packer and Anthony Bell, with the bash costing a massive $200,000.
