Prince William and Kate Middleton have spoken out for the first time about the newly-released files on the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
“I can confirm The Prince and Princess have been deeply concerned by the continuing revelations,” the couple’s spokesperson told journalists on Monday ahead of their arrival in Saudi Arabia, Kensington Palace confirmed to Page Six.
“Their thoughts remain focused on the victims,” the spokesperson added.
Last week, the Department of Justice released in excess of 3 million records related to the troubling acts committed by Epstein and his accomplices, including right-hand woman Ghislaine Maxwell, who is currently serving 20 years for sex trafficking.
Epstein died in prison in 2019 at the age of 66.
William’s uncle, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor — who has been exiled from royal life due to his connection to Epstein — is named in the docs.
The files include a photo of Andrew, 65, crouched over an unidentified woman lying underneath him and an email seemingly confirming the authenticity of a 2001 photo of then 17-year-old Virginia Giuffre with Andrew.
Also included is an email containing crude comments by Andrew’s ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, regarding their daughter Eugenie, who was 19 at the time.
Andrew, who has denied wrongdoing, was stripped of the titles of “prince” and “Duke of York” by his brother King Charles III in October. He was also forced to move out of Royal Lodge, his home for over 20 years.
Ferguson also lost her title as the Duchess of York.
“In discussion with The King, and my immediate and wider family, we have concluded the continued accusations about me distract from the work of His Majesty and the Royal Family,” Andrew said in statement that announced him being stripped of his titles.
“I have decided, as I always have, to put my duty to my family and country first. I stand by my decision five years ago to stand back from public life,” Andrew added, before reiterating, “I vigorously deny the accusations against me.”
Before their new statement, William and Middleton, both 44, avoided speaking about Andrew and his connection to Epstein, including when they were heckled during a joint visit to Scotland last month.
As the couple shook hands with people outside a pub in the village of Fallin, someone yelled, “How long have you known about Andrew and Epstein? How long have you known about Andrew and Epstein?”
William and Middleton ignored the heckler, as seen in video of the moment shared on X, and a security officer eventually intervened and told the critic to stop shouting.
