She has no objection to quitting “The Kardashians.”
Kim Kardashian said she would “absolutely” give up her reality TV career if it meant focusing on being a lawyer “full-time.”
“I would be just as happy being an attorney full-time,” she shared during a panel at the 2023 TIME100 Summit on Tuesday, when asked by moderator Poppy Harlow if she would ever consider stepping away from the cameras.
“There’s a lot that’s always on TV and a lot that’s always out there, but I think my friends and my family know that we really cherish a lot of our private times.”
Kardashian, 42, added that she hopes that fighting injustices in the country’s prison system will be her “life’s most meaningful work.”
“I always joke with my mom — who’s my manager — I say, ‘Kim K. is retiring, and I’m just going to be an attorney,’” Kardashian said.
The Skims founder added, “I would totally spend more time doing that, cameras or no cameras.”
Kardashian shared that the journey to becoming a lawyer has opened her eyes to “so much to be done.”

“It gets overwhelming,” she said, adding, “I brought my sister Khloé [Kardashian] to a prison for the first time last week, and that was really eye-opening for her.”
Kim starred on E!’s “Keeping Up With The Kardashians,” which debuted in 2007, for 20 seasons until signing on with Hulu for their new reality show “The Kardashians,” which premiered last year.
Over the years, Kim’s career expanded beyond reality TV as she launched her Skims clothing brand and beauty brand SKKN BY KIM (formerly KKW Beauty.)
But she started becoming interested in fighting for prison reform in 2017 when she started advocating for Alice Marie Johnson who had been serving a life sentence in prison since 1996 after being convicted for a first-time drug offense.
She dedicated her time to freeing Johnson, 67, and even met with former President Donald Trump on the matter. Trump, 76, commuted her sentence in 2018 and Johnson was released.
Since then, Kim has gone on to advocate for the release of several other convicts and revealed in 2019 that she was studying to become a lawyer.
Kim – whose late father, Robert Kardashian, was famously an attorney for O.J. Simpson during his murder trial – passed the “baby bar” exam in 2021 after three failed attempts.
She shared at the summit that she plans on taking the actual bar exam in February 2025.
Kim has quite a career portfolio and also launched the private equity firm SKKY Partners last September.
