EXCLUSIVE: Kyle Sandilands reveals he was with John Ibrahim when his brother Fadi was shot five times – as radio star prepares to feature in season two of Last King of the Cross

Kyle Sandilands is set to feature in season two of Paramount+ series Last King of the Cross.

The radio star’s long-time friend John Ibrahim, 54, was by his side when the Kings Cross identity’s brother Fadi was brutally gunned down in 2009.

Fadi, who is the second-youngest of four Ibrahim brothers, was shot five times by an unknown assailant while sitting in a Lamborghini with his girlfriend Shayda Bastani, who was also shot once in the thigh.

Last King of the Cross follows John’s rise to power in the Kings Cross nightclub scene during the 90s and early 2000s, and season two will feature a scene depicting the shooting.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Mail Australia, Kyle said John, who is also the show’s executive producer, recently asked whether he was happy to be featured as a character.

‘I said, ‘I don’t give a f**k, so long as I’m not a [portrayed as] a fat midget toad’. I said “Be kind… no George Costanza”. He went, “Brother, I’ll look after you”,’ Kyle joked.

‘He reminded me that when his brother Fadi got shot five times in the Lambo and the wife [Shayda] copped it in the leg, I was with him when he got the phone call,’ he added.

Kyle said he would love to be played by the likes of Chris Hemsworth, and is planning to personally attend the casting.

Home And Away star Lincoln Younes played John in season one and will likely reprise the role in season two.

Fadi and his now-wife Shayda were parked outside their home in Sydney’s Castle Cove on June 5, 2009 when they were attacked by a gunman during a late-night ambush.

He was hit in the arm, chest and stomach, while Shayda was shot in the leg when the gun was fired through the car window.

Fadi, who was 35 years old at the time, was placed in an induced coma for three weeks before being woken up.

Both Fadi and Shayda survived the attack, although Fadi has dealt with ongoing health issues as a result of his injuries.
