Lara Worthington and her husband Sam Worthington are well known for keeping their love life, and their family, very private.
But the Australian model revealed this week that her husband’s tendency to shun the spotlight is a major reason that she adores him.
In a post made on TikTok, the 39-year-old followed a recent social media trend that tasks users with stating ‘why’ they love their significant other.
Alongside a carousel of images of the pair together, Lara penned a moving series of captions.
‘I have been with Sam for 12 years,’ she wrote across the first image, adding on the second, ‘Sam has no social media’.
On the final slide, she wrote: ‘And that is my why’.

The photos showed the couple posing for a mirror selfie and travelling in Europe, as well as a single image of Sam, which appeared to be taken by Lara.
Her fans were impressed by the dedication, with one person writing: ‘The BIGGEST green flag.’
‘He’s the hottest blue alien to ever exist. You lucky gal,’ wrote someone else, referring to Sam’s character in the Avatar film franchise.
‘He always has seemed like a normal chill dude,’ said another person, while one more fan wrote: ‘He’s such a good, humble actor.’
The Aussie power couple – who share sons Rocket Zot, 11, Racer, nine, and River, six – knew from the get-go they wanted to keep their children out of the spotlight so they could have a normal upbringing.
‘I think privacy is mostly a choice. It was always our choice to not put our kids out there from day dot,’ Lara told nine.com.au.
‘They’re older now. Like my son, Rocket, he’s 11, and it’s nice.
‘They can always choose what they want to do later, but I think for the decade that they were babies, I think it’s nice to protect them as much as you can,’ she continued.

Lara and Sam began dating in 2013 and married the following year.
The couple welcomed Rocket on March 24, 2015 in Los Angeles.
Racer was born in New York in October 2016 approximately 18 months later.
The genetically-blessed duo secretly welcomed River in June 2020.
The family is now based in New York, but Lara says she’ll always be Australian at heart.
‘I still have an Australian passport. I’m still Australian!’ she said.
Lara previously told The Daily Telegraph that the couple are enjoying growing old together.
‘We’ve only got each other. Sam and I are a good team,’ she said.
‘We’re both Australians and we have the same values. We come at our children as a team… I think that’s really important.’
