Economists project bids for an NBA expansion team will range between $7-10 billion

The incredible career of LeBron James saw him taking the difficult task of picking his greatest highlight moments. James appeared on the Bob Does Sports golf YouTube channel to play golf and answer some questions from Bobby Fairways. The tough question about LeBron’s greatest individual highlights gave us a rare glimpse into his greatest personal memories as a top tier NBA superstar.

James listed the following top three moments when selecting his best highlights:

“That’s number one (blocking Andre Iguodala in Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals  – the block to seal it. The alley-oop in Boston, the dunk with Jason Terry – that’s up there. I don’t know if it’s one particular highlight but this game in particular – 29 of 30, the last 25 points scored in Detroit during the Eastern Conference Finals.”

LeBron listed the infamous chase down block on Andre Iguodala to win an important NBA Championship with the Cleveland Cavaliers as number one. The second pick was a vicious poster dunk over Jason Terry that saw James staring him down for revenge over past trash talk. LeBron’s final pick featured an iconic game scoring 25 straight points against the Detroit Pistons to get to his first NBA Finals in 2007.

Why These Moments Matter To LeBron

The chase down block on Iguodala should clearly be number one when looking at LeBron’s career defining moment. James led the Cavaliers to a historic 3-1 comeback in the 2016 Finals over the 73-9 Golden State Warriors and that block represented his desire to win at all costs.

A powerful alley-oop dunk over Terry may be surprising since this was a random regular game of little stakes. However, Terry talked loudly about his Dallas Mavericks beating Miami and outscoring LeBron in the 2011 NBA Finals. James humbled Terry with one of the most embarrassing poster dunks in NBA history.

James referenced another iconic career-defining moment for the third selection from 2007. Cleveland was the clear underdog against the Pistons in the Eastern Conference Finals. LeBron scoring 25 consecutive points in the fourth quarter and overtime periods gave the Cavaliers a huge Game 5 victory to ultimately take the series.

Other LeBron Moments Just Missed Mark

The golfer named LeBron’s buzzer beater for Cleveland in the 2009 Eastern Conference Finals against the Orlando Magic as his selection. James joked about overlooking that, but the team didn’t win that series and fell short of the title goals.

Many view the one-sided 2018 NBA Finals where Cleveland got swept by Golden State as another impactful moment for LeBron’s career. James’ Game 1 performance was among the best nights of his or any NBA career with a 51-point performance. Unfortunately, JR Smith’s embarrassing moment of forgetting to call a timeout cost them the game.

LeBron has dozens of other memorable moments that could be a peak highlight for the average NBA star. It was fascinating to see James naming some of the same picks that fans would assign to him as his landmark moments. LeBron hopes that he can have more moments contending for another title before he hangs it up.
