The accusation comes from Bart Carlson, a figure described as a longtime friend of Barlow. According to TMZ, Carlson claimed that Barlow asked for financial assistance multiple times between May 2010 and February 2018 due to critical financial troubles faced by her business ventures.
Carlson asserted that due to their long-standing friendship, no specific repayment schedule was established, assuming Barlow would pay back the loans when her businesses became solvent. However, he reported that despite repeated requests to recoup his funds, Barlow contended she could not pay him back personally or through her businesses.

Barlow has addressed these allegations through a statement to Dailymail.com. She acknowledged her past association with Carlson but categorically denied owing him money.
Bart Carlson was once a business partner in a restaurant in Park City and, I thought, a friend. I am deeply saddened that he has decided nine years after our restaurant business ceased to claim that I owe him money.
She continued emphatically, To be very clear, the claim that I owe Bart or his company money is untrue. I pay my bills and obligations and I always have. In addition, Bart has no interest in Luxe Marketing or Vida Tequila and did not invest in either business.
