Mayor Eric Adams parties in Hamptons as NYC faces crime, budget talks

While there was a broad-daylight stabbing in the East Village last weekend — and the city’s budget negotiations go down to the wire — Mayor Eric Adams hit the Hamptons.

On Saturday, spies saw the New York City pol at Ketchy Beach, Southampton’s hottest new spot and an outpost of the cool downtown Manhattan club, Ketchy Shuby.

A spy told us of Hizzoner, “Adams showed up with a five-person security detail and wanted to hang out in a cabana by the pool.”

The pol was hanging at the Hamptons hottest new beach club.
The club is at Southampton’s Capri Hotel.

He posed for pics with patrons, and was seen sandwiched between two beautiful women in one shot.

The pic on Instagram had the caption, “Mayor Adams celebrating Sara’s birthday,” apparently referring to one of the women in the fun-filled image.

Some former supporters were rolling their eyes.

“He’s polling in the 20s, the perception of crime is out of control, no one feels like anyone is in charge and his answer is to skip town and go party . . . in the Hamptons?” said a political insider.

“It was bad enough when it’s [Noho club] Zero Bond, but now this?”

Adams addressed his Hamptons stay at a press conference on Tuesday when a reporter asked about the mayor’s “participation in the budget negotiations.”

“I know you were out in the Hamptons this weekend as a lot of these talks were happening,” said the reporter, according to a transcript of the presser. “Are you actually personally involved in the talks or are you delegating everything to… the rest of the team?”

Adams responded: “When I was out in the Hamptons for the day, because I’m allowed to go and rest, we were still in constant contact. I have a great team.”
