Angela Merkel’s legacy is a Europe flooded with migrants from the Middle East, a skyrocketing rape crisis in her country, and throughout Europe, a sputtering German economy, and a dependence on Russia for oil and gas. Most ironic of all, she created conditions much more conducive to the rise of AfD, a party she despises with the intensity of a thousand suns.
Merkel becomes the first person to receive the European Order of Merit, the EU’s new top honor for people who have contributed the most to Europe’s development.
In her speech, she urged EU leaders to regulate speech on social media.

In honor of this legacy, the technocrats of the European Union awarded her the very first European Order of Merit, a newly created award intended to promote European Unity and celebrate technocracy.
You have to admit, the award makes sense. Ursula von der Leyen rightly sees herself as an inheritor of Merkel’s legacy, and they share the same contempt for ordinary people and their wishes.
🇪🇺🇩🇪 The EU just gave Angela Merkel its highest honor, the European Order of Merit.
As German Chancellor she:
1) ordered the destruction of all nuclear power plants, which produced 30% of Germany’s electricity
2) she opened the borders flooding Europe with millions of Muslims pic.twitter.com/32EBd6gUCL

Merkel was the author of many damaging policies, not the least of which is the destruction of nuclear energy, which set the stage for Germany’s economic decline. But no policy she promoted—almost solely, at first—was more damaging than her opening the borders of Europe to over a million refugees from the Syrian civil war, and subsequently to mass migration from Muslim countries.

Crime rates—particularly sex crimes against European women—have skyrocketed to levels that would have been unimaginable in 2010, and social discord has increased along with it, as Europeans rightly feel that their well-being and opinions are systematically ignored by the political elite who insist that diversity is the strength of democratic republics.
In 2015-2016 over one million “refugees” from Syria were let into Germany by the communist traitor Angela Merkel.

Now they can bring their family members from Syria also. Millions more are arriving in 2026. The Angel Merkel disaster of 2015 continues to destroy Germany.
Rather than taking seriously and addressing the legitimate concerns of native Europeans, the European Union and European countries have responded by censoring their citizens and, in some cases, banning political parties, canceling elections, and arresting people for having unacceptable opinions.

German police are banned from joining the AfD, and the party has been labeled a hate group, despite being one of the fastest-growing political parties in Europe (Reform is probably growing faster, and for the same reasons).
It doesn’t look like Germany, but it is. Thank you Merkel and Ursula von der Leyen. pic.twitter.com/426ShFGlO1

Merkel, in her speech to the European Parliament, gave some sage advice: censor speech more. Which, you have to admit, is on-brand for both the European Union and Merkel. It fits their commitment to democratic principles to a T.
Irony of ironies, a large number of European Members of Parliament boycotted the speech, so the EU changed the rules for who could sit inside the well of the chamber to make it appear as if everybody supported her and her message.
The MPs wanted to send a message to Merkel and the world, but the EU decided that the message wasn’t what they wanted to hear, so they created the illusion of unanimity. Everybody clapped, but the “everybody” in this case was a carefully constructed audience.
Best not let people see that there was dissent. It sends the wrong message and harms “democracy.”
As I said, totally on-brand.
