Michael McIntyre has revealed that he has begun taking weight loss jabs, after doctors warned him that he was obese.
The comedian, 49, admitted he had been reluctant to take the medication initially, but that his wife Kitty had insisted following the diagnosis.
The Wheel star – whose weight has fluctuated over the years – explained he began with Ozempic, before switching over to a course of Mounjaro and had already shed the pounds just three weeks in.
Speaking to an audience at a London show, Michael candidly admitted that he’d weighed 100kg (15st 10lbs), prior to starting the jabs, as he proudly showed off his slimmer frame.
In quotes obtained by The Sun, he quipped: ‘Have you noticed how tiny I am? I have lost weight. Don’t applaud it because there is a little bit of cheating that has gone on.’
Recalling his visit to his GP, he went on: ‘The doctor told me I weighed 100kg. He told me I was “obese”. How rude. He said, “It’s a medical term”.’

According to the NHS, for most adults if your BMI is between 30 to 39.9 then you are medically obese, while higher than 40 means morbidly obese.
Michael insisted that his weight gain was the result of him eating the leftovers of his and Kitty’s two sons, Lucas, 20, and Oscar, 18.
And he confessed that while the appetite surpressent medication was working well for him so far, he predicted that his success would ‘fall apart’ if he gave into his sweet tooth again.
Mounjaro – the brand name for tirzepatide – has become one of the most talked-about ‘fat jabs’ alongside Ozempic and Wegovy in a wave of injectable appetite suppressants.
The medication mimics the naturally occurring GLP-1 hormone, which helps lower blood sugar and can increase feelings of fullness.
While invented to treat diabetes, the injections have soared in popularity in recent years as a means to shed some pounds, particularly among the rich and famous including Oprah Winfrey, Sharon Osbourne, and Elon Musk.
Michael has been open about his struggle with to keep the weight off, previously going to stay at a special £4,000-per-week weight loss clinic.
The funnyman travelled to the Mayr clinic Austria with his friend Paul Tonkinson in February 2017, in a bid to get himself in better shape.

While he revealed he lost one-stone in just six days, he said he was ‘depressed’ during the stay and that he and his pal ‘starved’ during the trip, only eating soup and crackers.
Speaking on Jessie Ware’s Table Manners podcast in 2020, Michael shared: ‘You drink the Epsom salts first thing and then within 20 minutes, the whole of the clinic – which is full of wealthy fat people – are all rushing to the lavatory.
‘I lost a stone – we were only there six days. I was so emotional, depressed and confused and Paul was skeletal.’
Revealing more about the stay, the TV star said he and Paul decided to leave early after his pal ‘nearly died’ following an incident which was ‘a bit grim and cleared them out’ during a hike.
While last year, he also revealed his time at the clinic had a bizarre side effect, as he explained he had developed a fear of apples.
The presenter claimed he is now scared to eat the fruit, which he was told would make him ‘lethargic’ and ‘confused’, and after undergoing various tests was told he should avoid eating them.
He told The Sun: ‘I went to this place called the Mayr Clinic and lost quite a bit of weight, which I kept off for a little while.
‘It was a week of pain and they did all these tests on me, put little probes on the end of my tongue and told me I shouldn’t eat apples.

‘Apparently apples will make me very lethargic and confused in my brain. It’s the only thing I’ve taken from it, really.’
While in a marked difference from today, Michael previously claimed that wife Kitty had been against him slimming down, as she liked his bigger size.
He insisted that she prefers ‘teddy bear Michael’, making him less motivated to shed the pounds.
The star joked it would be much easier for him to lose the weight ig ‘she was quite rude to me about my weight’.
He continued: ‘She wants teddy bear Michael, not racing snake Michael, the man she first met. She was like, “Who is this? Who is this insanely hot, chiselled man in front of me?” She didn’t like it. So that was quite demotivating.’
Michael previously told Graham Norton on his chat show, that he had first been motivated to lose weight after he was branded fat by an app his son used.

He told the host: ‘I’ve had lots of clues over the years that perhaps I should lose weight, but something happened in December which finally made me want to do it.
‘My son has an app called Akinator the Genie that guesses the famous people you’re thinking of by asking questions, so for egotistical reasons I thought, while my son was at school, I’d see if I was on it.
‘It started asking questions like, “Is it a man?” and “Is he American?” and it narrowed it down to a British comedian with dark hair and I’m getting a little excited wondering if it’s me in the game and then it asks, “Is he slightly overweight?”
‘So I had a moment of truth, took a deep breath and put in “Yes” and it said “Is it Michael McIntyre?” So I haven’t eaten since then.’
