Mike Tyson claims Jamie Foxx had stroke before hospitalization

Mike Tyson claims he heard Jamie Foxx was hospitalized after suffering a stroke.

“He’s not feeling well. They said a stroke,” the former boxer said on the “PBD Podcast” on May 16.

But Tyson, 56, clarified that he was not sure whether the hearsay was true, adding, “I have no idea what happened to him.”

He added, “Hey, listen, we can’t anticipate our next breath. We don’t know when we are gonna die. … After we leave, this bad stuff can happen.”

The famed athlete also admitted he thinks it is odd that Foxx’s family has been so secretive about his condition.

“If we don’t know about it by now, they don’t want us to know,” he said.

The actor, 55, had been set to portray Tyson in an upcoming biopic series, but his casting is now up in the air given his medical situation.

“Well, it was a possibility. I don’t know what’s going to happen now. But, you know, it’s a strong possibility,” the heavyweight great said. “Because, you know, Jamie’s closer to my age, so in order to do him, they were going to do what they did with [the movie] ‘Benjamin Button.’ They were going to make him look younger.”

Foxx first raised concerns when he was hospitalized on April 11 for what his daughter Corinne Foxx vaguely described as a “medical complication.”

“Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery,” she shared on Instagram at the time.

“We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”

Amid his hospitalization, the “Ray” star’s movie with Cameron Diaz, “Back in Action,” had to pause filming but resumed days later with a body double in Jamie’s place.

The “Django Unchained” star reportedly had an on-set meltdown prior to his medical issue.

Last month, reports claimed Jamie’s health was steadily improving, with one source sharing that he was “awake and alert.”

However, Nick Cannon and Kelly Osbourne had to temporarily fill in for Jamie and Corinne, 29, as the co-hosts of the Fox musical game show “Beat Shazam” earlier this month as the Oscar winner’s illness remained a mystery.

Jamie broke his silence on May 3 to update fans on his health, though he offered little information.

“Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed,” he wrote on his Instagram Story, adding emojis of praying hands, a red heart and a fox.

Days later, Radar Online claimed the Foxx family was “preparing for the worst,” and journalist Touré further alleged in a since-deleted Instagram post that the Grammy winner was “on Life Support in [the] ICU.”

Corinne swiftly took to Instagram on May 12 to deny the claims, revealing that her dad had secretly “been out of the hospital for weeks.”

“update from the family: Sad to see how the media runs wild. My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating,” she wrote. “In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday.”

“We are thrilled to be developing ‘We Are Family’ with Jeff Apploff and our friends at FOX Entertainment,” they said in a statement last week.

“We hope this show brings as much fun to audiences at home as we’ve had creating it when it premieres next year.”

Jamie is reportedly receiving medical care in Chicago at one of the top physical rehabilitation centers in the country after being released from the hospital.

The facility is said to specialize in stroke recovery, traumatic brain injury rehab, spinal cord injury rehab and cancer rehabilitation.

Last week, Corinne and Foxx’s youngest daughter, Annalise, were spotted outside of the rehab center. Annalise, 13, was also joined by her mother, Kristin Grannis.
