‘Wentworth’ (2013–2021)
Developed by Lara Radulovich and David Hannam, Wentworth is an Australian prison drama series that’s essentially a modern reimagining of the classic series Prisoner. The show primarily follows Bea Smith (Danielle Cormack), who is sent to Wentworth Prison to await sentencing after being charged with murdering her abusive husband. The series also stars Nicole da Silva, Kris McQuade, Libby Tanner, Leeanna Walsman, Kate Atkinson, Celia Ireland, and more in key roles.
Wentworth was very positively received by critics and audiences during its original broadcast, airing 100 episodes across eight seasons from 2013 to 2021. Its first episode was one of the most-watched drama series premieres in Australia and one of the most acclaimed episodes of the year; the series consistently earned praise for its characters, narrative, and performances. Often compared to crime dramas like Breaking Bad and Sons of Anarchy, it’s a must-watch show for fans of intense dramas and prison-set thrillers.

‘Maxton Hall—The World Between Us’ (2024–Present)
A German romantic drama series set at a prestigious English boarding school, Maxton Hall—The World Between Us is an adaptation of Mona Kasten’s 2018 novel Save Me. Harriet Herbig-Matten stars as Ruby Bell, a bright young woman who gets into the titular school on a scholarship and finds herself targeted by her wealthy classmates, especially the arrogant James Beaufort (Damian Hardung), after witnessing something she wasn’t supposed to see. The series also stars Sonja Weißer, Eidin Jalali, Fedja van Huêt, Justus Riesner, Andrea Guo, and more in significant roles.
Maxton Hall was quite the unexpected hit when it first premiered in 2024, becoming Prime Video’s most popular non-American show and ranking at number one in over 120 countries. An addictive young adult romance drama that follows an archetypal enemies-to-lovers plot, the show covers mostly familiar ground, but its exciting story and melodramatic narrative have made it an audience favorite, prompting the release of a second season in November 2025 that was also similarly successful. A third and final season is currently in the works.

‘Jury Duty’ (2023–Present)
Created by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, Jury Duty is a unique sitcom that blends reality with narrative fiction. The show follows Ronald Gladden, who serves as a juror in a civil trial, but what he doesn’t know is that all the other jurors, and the trial itself, are a staged hoax. James Marsden leads the ensemble cast, playing a fictional version of himself, with Alan Barinholtz, Susan Berger, Cassandra Blair, David Brown, Kirk Fox, Ross Kimball, Mekki Leeper, Rashida Olayiwola, and more playing key characters.
Easily one of the funniest comedy shows ever released on the now-defunct streaming service Freevee, Jury Duty’s blend of reality and fiction made it highly popular with audiences and critics at the time of its release, with Ronald Gladden, the unwitting hero, becoming an unlikely star across the country. The series earned several accolades, including three Primetime Emmy Award nominations, two Golden Globe nominations, and a Peabody Award. A second season was confirmed to have been filmed in 2025 and is expected to premiere on Prime Video sometime this year.
