The hotly anticipated return of The Boys spin-off Gen V has finally risen to the occasion, knocking The Summer I Turned Pretty from its top spot on the US Prime Video TV streaming charts at the time of writing. After the third season of the romantic drama dominated the charts for the past couple of months, eventually turning into the announcement of a feature-length final chapter, the unthinkable has now been achieved by the hugely popular superhero series. With plenty of other exciting shows on the platform, there’s still an overwhelming amount to sift through before deciding what to watch. That’s where Collider comes in. We’re here to help with a look at the three Prime Video shows you need to binge this weekend.

‘The Horror of Dolores Roach’ (2023)
Rotten Tomatoes: 81% | IMDb: 7.1/10
This weekend is the first of spooky season, and there’s no better way to kick it off than with this underrated horror gem. Based on the hit Spotify podcast of the same name, The Horror of Dolores Roach follows Justina Machado‘s titular Dolores, who, after returning home from a wrongful 16-year prison sentence, is driven to murder as her new life is threatened.
A winding horror delight with plenty of blood and guts, this gory series doesn’t pull any punches in its delivery of the brilliantly grotesque. On the surface, this campy horror story is entertaining simply for its shock value. However, under the surface is a genuinely intriguing character study led by a superb Machado performance. Its cruel cancellation caused outrage from fans, with its small, eight-episode size making it perfect for a weekend binge-watch.
2
‘Hotel Costiera’ (2025)
Rotten Tomatoes: 86% | IMDb: 6.6/10
This weekend, why not try one of the newest shows to come to Prime Video? Described by some as The White Lotus meets Taken, Hotel Costiera follows Jesse Williams of Grey’s Anatomy fame as fixer Daniel De Luca, a man working at a luxurious hotel on the stunning Italian coast. When the hotel owner’s daughter disappears in mysterious circumstances, Daniel takes it upon himself to uncover the truth.
At a time when mysteries in luxurious settings have never been more popular, there’s certainly plenty to like about Hotel Costiera. With a strong 86% critics’ score on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the series is one of the highest-rated Prime Video additions in recent memory, making it a great way for subscribers to get the most out of their monthly fee. Suave, mysterious, and visually stunning, what more could you want this weekend?
1
‘Monk’ (2002 — 2009)
Rotten Tomatoes: 89% | IMDb: 8.1/10
Still having a hard time figuring out what to watch this weekend? Keep it simple with an eight-time Primetime Emmy winner. Monk stars Tony Shalhoub as the titular former San Francisco detective, who, thanks to his severe OCD, has an advantage over other investigators. Now working as a consultant for the police, no puzzle is unsolvable for this genius mind, although plenty will push him to his limits.
Described by many as their favorite show, it might’ve been 23 years since Monk debuted on USA Network, but it doesn’t miss a beat on a re-watch. One of the best fictional detectives of the 21st century, Adrian Monk is effortlessly watchable for all 124 episodes, thanks to a career-defining lead performance from Shalhoub. An indulgent blend of mystery and comedy, this is a series everyone should watch at least once in their lifetime.
