Don’t worry! We’ve put together a good list of three steamy Netflix shows and movies for you to watch while waiting for the highly anticipated fifth season. As a heads-up, some may be even more risqué than Bridgerton.

The romantic drama film is set in the 1920s, shortly after World War I, against the picturesque backdrop of the English countryside. We follow Constance “Connie” Chatterley, a woman trapped in a loveless marriage after her husband is paralyzed in the war. Her world shifts when she meets Oliver Mellors, the estate’s rugged gamekeeper.

As their connection grows, what starts as curiosity quickly transforms into a passionate and secret love affair. Connie then finds herself having to navigate the impossible choice between the security and social expectations of her marriage and the irresistible pull of true desire and emotional freedom.

The Last Letter from Your Lover

Nabhaan Rizwan as Rory McCallan and Felicity Jones as Ellie Haworth in The Last Letter from Your Lover | Parisa Taghizadeh/NETFLIX

The Last Letter from Your Lover

  • Directed by: Augustine Frizzell
  • Written by: Nick Payne and Esta Spalding
  • Cast: Felicity Jones, Callum Turner, Joe Alwyn, Nabhaan Rizwan, Shailene Woodley
  • Based on: The Last Letter from Your Lover book by Jojo Moyes

The Last Letter from Your Lover might not be as steamy as Sex/Life or Lady Chatterley’s Lover, but it more than makes up for it with its heartfelt romance and emotional depth.

The best way to describe The Last Letter from Your Lover is that it’s a sweeping dual-timeline romance that effortlessly tugs at your heartstrings. The film follows two intertwined love stories. There’s one that’s set in 1960s London, following Jennifer Stirling, a wealthy socialite trapped in a controlling marriage to her husband, Laurence.

Everything changes after a serious car accident leaves her with amnesia, erasing memories of her life, including a passionate secret affair with Anthony O’Hare, a charming foreign journalist. Their romance had unfolded through heartfelt, clandestine letters.

But when Laurence discovers the affair, he manipulates Jennifer, hiding Anthony’s last letter and convincing her that he is dead. As Jennifer pieces together the fragments of her memory, she is forced to confront both the love she lost and the life she thought she wanted.

The second storyline unfolds in modern-day London, where journalist Ellie Haworth discovers a cache of these same love letters while researching for a story. Heartbroken and hesitant about love, Ellie becomes obsessed with unraveling the mystery behind the letters. With the help of Rory, a supportive archivist, she pieces together Jennifer and Anthony’s story, and in doing so, finds herself reconsidering her own approach to love.

You can watch all of these steamy movies and shows on Netflix right now.
