‘KPop Demon Hunters Sing-Along’ (2025)
If you haven’t seen KPop Demon Hunters yet, you might want to get on board the hype train before it passes you by. This recent release is one of Netflix’s most-streamed titles ever. With 236 million views, it has become one of 2025’s most successful films. The plot line follows the members of singing group Huntrix, Rumi (Arden Cho), Zoey (Ji-young Yoo), and Mira (May Hong) as they perform stellar songs to sell-out stadiums, and slay demons on the side. There is also a dramatic subplot and romantic storyline rolled into this engagingly animated spectacle.
The soundtrack to KPop Demon Hunters is as infectious as the characters. So much so that Netflix released KPop Demon Hunters Sing-Along in theaters and online. The sing-along is a great way for you and your kids to interact with the movie and have your own jam session. Since the songs are stuck in your head anyway, you might as well embrace them and sing your heart out with your very own karaoke watch party in the living room. Fans everywhere can’t get enough of this IP, and with a sequel greenlit by Sony, this could be the start of a very mystical musical fandom.

‘Enchanted’ (2007)
Like other great family films that have blended live-action and animation, the 2007 Disney film Enchanted features cartoon, CGI, and real-life performances. Enchanted tells the story of Giselle (Amy Adams), a young woman who lives in the idealistic land of Andalasia. When Giselle arrives at the palace to marry the handsome Prince Edward (James Marsden), whom she had only met the day before, she is tricked into traveling to the real world by his power-hungry stepmother.
Befriended by handsome New Yorker, Robert (Patrick Dempsey), and his daughter, Morgan (Rachel Covey), Giselle manages to land on her feet in the strange and less picturesque world. With a little Disney magic, Giselle manages to take Manhattan on a magical journey as she discovers that true love isn’t always what you think it will be and bravery can be found in anyone. Enchanted lives up to its name, and this delightful movie delivers on all fronts for romance, adventure, and action. It would make a great pairing after watching KPop Demon Hunters, as it also involves a heroine trying to make sense of two realities that are often at odds with each other. The cast is superb, and Marsden served up some fantastic “kenergy” as Edward long before Barbie did.

‘The Prince of Egypt’ (1998)
There are some great faith-based movies in theaters right now, like Light of the World. This coming weekend, Fathom Entertainment will release Sight & Sound Presents: NOAH – Live! at select theaters across the nation. But for those who don’t want to travel to the cinema or don’t have access to limited-release theaters, Netflix has a true gem of the genre. But it’s leaving soon.
The Prince of Egypt is an epic animated film that features a star-studded cast and an Oscar-winning song. It follows the events of Moses’ (Val Kilmer) life and the great exodus of the Hebrew people from Egypt. The Prince of Egypt is visually stunning, and the hand-drawn animation is dramatic and captivating. Important scenes from the Biblical account, like the burning bush and the parting of the sea, are magnificent to watch in the clean and sophisticated style that is anything but cartoony. There are also terrific musical numbers and comedic moments. The Prince of Egypt will be leaving Netflix at the end of September, so if you want to watch this animated masterpiece, now is the time.

‘Night at the Museum’ (2006)
As kids go back to school, learning and field trips are definitely on the agenda. But making learning exciting and history interesting is a tall order that many teachers can attest to struggling with. If you want to get your young students excited about learning, look no further than the Shawn Levy-directed Night at the Museum. Levy, who is known for Deadpool & Wolverine, Free Guy, and episodes of Stranger Things, is great at pacing comedy with even moments. His Night at the Museum films are some of his best works, and they are excellent for families to watch together. With a reboot of the hit franchise in the works, now is the time to watch the OGs.
Night at the Museum stars Ben Stiller as Larry Daley, a man who is drifting in life and in his career choices. When he starts a new job as a night security guard at the Museum of Natural History, he gets a front row seat as history comes to life, literally. Night at the Museum features adventure, comedy, and fun historical facts. There are so many stars in the movie, it’s like a treasure hunt as you watch the film unfold, wondering which cameo you’ll spot next. Just to drop a few names, Robin Williams, Rami Malek, and Owen Wilson are all actors you will enjoy watching in their roles. The movie spawned a successful lineage with two other films, Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, and Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb. All three movies have found their place in history as beloved favorites for audiences of all ages.

‘Ponyo’ (2008)
For Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli fans, this weekend would be a great time to watch Ponyo. The 2008 animated classic will be showing in select theaters across the US, but it is also available online for streaming. Miyazaki is the mastermind behind critically acclaimed animations like My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, and Howl’s Moving Castle. His vision for Ponyo captures the beauty of childlike wonder as he uses bright and colorful animation to tell a magical tale.
In Ponyo, a young goldfish princess longs to turn into a human after falling in love with a human boy. The engaging story has some Moana meets The Little Mermaid vibes. The visuals are captivating and whimsical, and blended with the performances and gorgeous musical score, Ponyo is irresistibly charming. Ponyo features performances by Liam Neeson, Cate Blanchett, and Matt Damon, who provided vocals for the English version. Ponyo is one of the best anime movies of the 2000s and one of Studio Ghibli’s finest.
