Boy, how the time flies! It feels like just yesterday we were bringing in the new year, and now we’re already three months in. It’s been a great start to 2026 so far with the release of so many returning and new Netflix shows.
We’ve seen the release of shows like Run Away, His & Hers, How to Get to Heaven from Belfast, Bridgerton season 4, Love is Blind season 10, The Lincoln Lawyer season 4, The Night Agent season 3, One Piece season 2, and many others.
But even with all this incredible content already available, the best is still yet to come. On the horizon are so many more great Netflix shows that are poised to make 2026 a year we’ll never forget. In this article, we’ve put together a list of six of the biggest Netflix series still to come this year. These are the highly anticipated releases that are sure to dominate your watchlist!
Beef season 2
Netflix subscribers have reason to celebrate because Beef is back! After the explosive success of its first season, Beef season 2 is ready to hit screens on April 16, 2026. It brings a fresh story, new characters, and even more drama and dark humor.
While the first season centered on a road-rage feud between Danny and Amy, the anthology-style series is shifting gears to explore a brand-new conflict. The second season revolves around a newly engaged couple, Ashley Miller and Austin Davis, who both work at an exclusive country club.
After witnessing a tense altercation between their boss, Joshua Martín and his wife Lindsay Crane-Martín, they find their seemingly ordinary lives disrupted. What then begins as a shocking incident quickly spirals into a complex web of tension, manipulation, and psychological games.
Sweet Magnolias season 5
Netflix’s beloved Southern drama, Sweet Magnolias, is back for its highly anticipated fifth season. Following the heartfelt and compelling storylines of the previous seasons, this new installment promises to continue exploring the lives, loves, and friendships of the three inseparable best friends.
While an official synopsis or logline for Sweet Magnolias season 5 hasn’t been revealed yet, showrunner and executive producer Sheryl J. Anderson teased that the new season will see Maddie, Dana Sue, and Helen take a girls’ trip to New York City. If you recall from the season 4 finale, Maddie decides to finally put herself first and pursue a major career opportunity in the Big Apple.
It’ll be interesting to see how Maddie adapts to city life, balances her career ambitions with her personal relationships, and navigates the challenges of being away from Serenity.
Outer Banks season 5
Netflix’s hit teen drama Outer Banks is returning for its fifth and final season sometime this year, and it’ll be bringing the long-running adventures of the Pogues to a dramatic conclusion. Overall, Outer Banks has had a great run. Most Netflix teen shows end after four seasons, but this series has managed to extend its narrative while keeping fans invested.
It’s just something about the unbreakable bond between the Pogues and the high-stakes treasure hunting that has kept audiences coming back season after season. While we don’t know the exact specifics of what Outer Banks season 5 will entail just yet, we do have a strong idea of the direction the story is heading based on how season 4 left off.
The shocking and heartbreaking loss of JJ Maybank is expected to be a driving force in the final installment. Besides continuing their quest for the Blue Crown treasure, the Pogues will likely be on a revenge mission to make JJ’s biological dad pay for what he did.
Avatar: The Last Airbender season 2
Live-action adaptations of beloved animated classics have a reputation for falling short. Fans hold the original material close to their hearts, and expectations are sky-high. Yet Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender surprised audiences with its first season. Not only did it capture the essence of Aang’s journey, but it also delivered a visually stunning, emotionally engaging story.
Now, with Avatar: The Last Airbender season 2 on the horizon, the series is ready to elevate the stakes even further. The Hunting Wives season 2
When The Hunting Wives season 1 premiered on Netflix back in July 2025, no one had expected it to become such a binge-worthy sensation. Based on May Cobb’s bestselling novel, the show quickly drew viewers into its seemingly perfect, high-society world of Maple Brook, Texas.
Season 1 introduced Sophie O’Neill, a newcomer to East Texas whose life is upended when she becomes entangled with Margo Banks and her elite social circle. At first, Sophie is dazzled by the glamorous lifestyle, the designer outfits, and the charm of Maple Brook’s wealthy residents. But it soon becomes clear that behind the glittering facade lies a world of manipulation, betrayal, and dark secrets.
The first season left off with Sophie and Margo not on the best of terms. Sophie even killed Margo’s brother Kyle in self-defense and disposed of his body. In The Hunting Wives season 2, the tension between Sophie and Margo continues to simmer, but circumstances force them back into uneasy collaboration.
Black Doves season 2
Netflix’s British spy thriller Black Doves quickly became one of the streaming giant’s standout original dramas after its December 2024 debut. The series stars Keira Knightley as Helen Webb, a devoted wife and mother who secretly works as a covert operative for a shadowy espionage organization called the Black Doves.
The first season saw Helen grappling with the treacherous balance between her domestic life and the high-stakes demands of espionage. Alongside her old assassin friend, Sam Young, she uncovered a conspiracy and faced ruthless adversaries.
