Alan Ritchson has dropped one massive Reacher season 4 update, which eases some major concerns surrounding its release window.
Reacher has become one of the most valuable television IPs for Amazon Prime Video. Its success can be attributed to several factors, including its loyalty to its source material, Alan Ritchson’s performance, and incredible action sequences. However, another reason why it has succeeded with each new installment is that it has maintained a consistent release schedule.
A new season of Reacher has dropped on Prime Video almost every year since its premiere in 2022. Surprisingly, there have been no new releases from the franchise in 2025, so far, even though two additional installments have been confirmed. This raises many concerns surrounding the franchise’s fading momentum, but Ritchson’s Reacher season 4 update is a little relieving.
Alan Ritchson Has Confirmed Reacher Season 4’s Filming Is Almost Over
In an interview with ScreenRant, Alan Ritchson confirmed that they are only a week away from wrapping Reacher season 4’s filming. This suggests that the upcoming season’s post-production must be on the verge of beginning, suggesting that its release on Prime Video is not too far. However, the upcoming Neagley spinoff show is scheduled to premiere before Reacher season 4.
As the post above reveals, Maria Sten took to her Instagram in June to announce that Neagley‘s filming has been wrapped. Since nearly five months have passed after Sten’s social media announcement, the spinoff should be nearing the end of its post-production. Surprisingly, though, no new updates about Neagley‘s official release have been made yet.
With a little over a month left for the year to end, it seems unlikely that the Neagley spinoff will land on Prime Video in 2025. It could, however, set its eyes on an early 2026 premiere. Since Reacher season 4 will be released after the spin-off, it is hard not to be a little worried about its delayed release window.
Reacher’s Filming Update Eases One Season 4 Release Concern
Alan Ritchson’s filming update for Reacher suggests that, after Neagley premieres in 2026’s first quarter, the parent show’s season 4 could target a summer release in the same year. Post-production timelines can often vary, but five to six months is considered a normal period for most television shows.
Considering Neagley‘s delay though, it is possible that Neagley will premiere further down in 2026, while Reacher season 4 will move towards the end of the same year. Alan Ritchson‘s announcement is relieving, but it still does not point towards a fixed release window. And if Reacher season 4 ends up releasing towards the end of 2026, the show could risk losing significant narrative momentum and audience interest.
