You’re Killing Me has bewitched fans with its first season on Acorn TV. The hit series stars Brooke Shields and Tom Cavangh as two people living in a quiet New England town. What happens when a novelist joins forces with a podcaster to help solve a murder? What could go wrong? The series also stars Amalia Williamson and was created by Robin Bernheim. Before the Season 1 finale airs, Collider is thrilled to partner with Acorn TV to share an exclusive new sneak peek from the episode that features Allie (Shields) and Andi (Williamson) bonding over some bad nachos.
You’re Killing Me is described as follows: “Set in a quaint New England town, the mystery follows bestselling novelist, Allie (Shields), who forms an unlikely alliance with an aspiring writer and podcaster, Andi (Williamson), to find the killer of a close friend. Cavanagh stars as Jack, the new lead detective of the local Police Department and former city slicker who is trying to acclimate to the quirks of small-town life.” So we get Cavangh, Shields, and Williamson solving a murder. What’s not to love?
Episode 6, titled “The Road Trip,” was written by Lee Goldberg and Phoef Sutton and directed by Paul Fox. The logline for it is as follows: “Armed with new information, Allie and Andi embark on a road journey to find Andi’s mom. Meanwhile, as Jack and Noah investigate a recently discovered corpse, both teams encounter secrets and revelations they never saw coming.” In our sneak peek, Allie and Andi are sitting in a bar, eating dinner, and talking about Andi’s mom. Allie is trying to convince her that everything will be okay. Andi is trying to navigate her mother abandoning her, and the fear of what seeing her again will do. She is so upset about it that her stomach gets upset, but that might just be the bad nachos that she’s eating.
Shields and Cavanagh Bring Star Power to Small Town New England
Shields and Cavanagh being a part of You’re Killing Me is exciting for a few reasons. It brings Cavanagh back to television after successful runs on shows like Ed and The Flash. For Shields, she worked previously with Bernheim on the 2024 film Mother of the Bride. So both joining the fold for You’re Killing Me has been exciting to watch. We’ll get more of this team when You’re Killing Me comes back for Season 2!
You can see what happens to Allie and Andi when the You’re Killing Me Season 1 finale airs on June 22. Stay tuned at Collider for more.
