Arrow season 8

For anyone who lives and breathes the DC universe, finding out any bad news hits harder than most people could ever understand. And sadly, DC Comics fans are about to experience one of those gut-wrenching moments really soon.

Netflix recently released its full list of shows and movies coming to and leaving its platform in December 2025, and one of the remaining DC Comics shows currently streaming has been given a removal date. This series is easily one of the best DC superhero shows of all time, so its impending departure is nothing short of heartbreaking.

Arrow is leaving Netflix on December 18

Unfortunately, this is the truth. All eight seasons of Arrow will be departing Netflix on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2025. This means the last day to stream the superhero series is Dec. 17. Not only did the streaming giant share this unfortunate news in its December list, but it also posted a removal notice on the show’s title page on the platform. So, this really confirms things.

Arrow’s departure from Netflix is no surprise. It’s a show that the streamer had licensed, so it’s only natural that, once the licensing agreement expires, the series would eventually be removed from the platform. The entire show has been available to stream on Netflix since 2020, so fans have had ample time to watch every episode as many times as they wanted. However, that still doesn’t soften the blow.

To make things even worse, it’s unknown where exactly the show will stream next. At the moment, the only other way to watch Arrow besides streaming it on Netflix is by purchasing individual episodes or complete seasons via digital platforms. Sure, this gives fans a way to continue watching the series, but it’s hardly the same as having all eight seasons available to stream at any time. This is such a bummer!

Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, and Andrew Kreisberg created Arrow. Based on the DC Comics character Green Arrow, the superhero series follows billionaire playboy Oliver Queen as he returns home after being stranded on a mysterious island for five years, taking on the role of a vigilante determined to fight crime and corruption in Star City.

Stephen Amell starred in the leading role as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow for all eight seasons. The cast also included Katie Cassidy, Colin Donnell, David Ramsey, Willa Holland, Susanna Thompson, Paul Blackthorne, Emily Bett Rickards, Colton Haynes, Manu Bennett, and so many others.

Could Arrow return to Netflix in the future?

Yes! In fact, Netflix is in the process of acquiring Warner Bros., which includes its vast library of DC content. While Arrow is set to leave Netflix on Dec. 18, this acquisition could open the door for the series and other DC shows to return to the platform in the future. So, this might just be a temporary goodbye. Once more information about Netflix’s acquisition becomes available, we should have a clearer idea of whether Arrow and other beloved DC series might return to the platform.
