Does Chozen die in Cobra Kai season 5? (Spoilers)

It’s time to turn on Netflix because Cobra Kai season 5 is finally here! The highly-anticipated installment takes place in the aftermath of the All Valley tournament, where Cobra Kai came out victorious and it was revealed Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) cheated to crown Tory Nichols (Peyton List) the girls’ champion. The season 4 finale left us with so many questions as we also learned Silver had set up John Kreese (Martin Kove), resulting the latter being arrested and thrown into jail.

In Cobra Kai season 5, Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) has the help of Chozen Toguchi (Yuji Okumoto) to try and take down the titular dojo, but Silver has proven himself to be a pretty terrible villain. One that’s going to be hard to defeat.

Chozen is a really great addition to the Netflix Original. Fans will remember him from The Karate Kid Part II, a villain at the time who fought against Daniel. However, Daniel travels back to Okinawa, Japan in season 3 and reunites with Kumiko (Tamlyn Tomita), another character from the second film. There, he also meets up with Chozen, and the two eventually make amends.

At the end of season 4, Chozen heads to Los Angeles to team up with Daniel, and in season 5, he plays a pretty big part.

Spoilers ahead for Cobra Kai season 5.

Daniel and Chozen get closer as they work closely together in Cobra Kai season 5, and Chozen even acts as a spy at the start before Silver discovers who he really is. By the end of the season, Daniel, Chozen, and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) are really fed up with Silver. It seems like he’s getting worse and more powerful with each passing day.

In the penultimate episode, Chozen joins Daniel, Johnny, and their friends as they party at a club to celebrate Carmen’s (Vanessa Rubio) pregnancy. On their way home, they unintentionally meet up with Mike Barnes (Sean Kanan), another villain from the Karate Kid movies who also hates Silver, and they drunkenly decide to go pay Silver a visit. Well, all of them besides Daniel. He knows better.

So Chozen, Johnny, and Mike head over to Silver’s, thinking they can take him in a fight. It’s three versus one, right? Well, not exactly. When they get there, all of Silver’s Senseis are around and ready to fight. Things don’t go well, and when Chozen and Silver face off one-on-one by the pool, Silver uses a sword and cuts Chozen pretty badly, leaving him unconscious.

What happens to Chozen in Cobra Kai season 5?

It seems like a pretty close call for Chozen, who’s seriously injured. It would be heartbreaking if he lost his life, especially like this, but fortunately he makes it out alive. At the end of Cobra Kai season 5, we see that Chozen is okay! Phew.

In some of the final moments of the last episode, Johnny, Mike, and Chozen show up at the dojo and reunite with Daniel. He definitely needs medical assistance, but it looks like Chozen will definitely survive the injury.

We’re so glad Chozen is now a big part of the show and hope that if Cobra Kai season 6 happens, he’ll be in it. At the moment, the Netflix Original has not been renewed, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed we get some good news soon.

In the meantime, you can stream Cobra Kai season 5 on Netflix right now!
