Walton Goggins is once again earning a tremendous amount of praise for his performance as The Ghoul in Fallout, but long before he ever starred in Prime Video’s video game adaptation, he featured in a beloved Western that’s dominating streaming. Goggins stars alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Christoph Waltz in Django Unchained, the 2012 epic following a freed slave who sets out to rescue his wife from a plantation with the help of a German bounty hunter. Django Unchained is streaming on HBO Max globally, where it’s surged into the top 10 in several countries, including both France and Italy.
Django Unchained is, unfortunately, not streaming anywhere in America at the time of writing. However, due to its popularity and surging success overseas, expect it to return to one of the big streaming services sometime early in the new year. Django Unchained was acclaimed by both critics and audiences alike, earning scores of 87% from the former and 92% from the latter on the aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes. It also justified a $100 million budget by grossing $424 million, more than doubling its break-even point. Samuel L. Jackson and Jamie Foxx also star in Django Unchained, which won two Oscars at the 2013 Academy Awards.
Django Unchained was written and directed by legendary filmmaker Quentin Tarantino, who has come under fire recently for his criticism of actors like Paul Dano and Matthew Lillard. Tarantino’s most recent film came in 2019 with Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, the showbiz drama starring Brad Pitt that’s getting a sequel. Tarantino isn’t returning to direct The Adventures of Cliff Booth, though, giving control to David Fincher while he writes the script.
What Is Walton Goggins’ Highest-Rated Movie?
The highest-rated project of Walton Goggins’ career is Dreaming Wild, a musical biopic starring Casey Affleck and Zooey Deschanel. The film earned 90% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and it’s currently streaming on Hulu for all subscribers. A close second for Goggins is Words on Bathroom Walls, a coming-of-age psychological thriller starring Andy Garcia and Taylor Russell. The film is currently streaming for free on Tubi and boasts an 89% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Fallout holds a higher rating than any of Goggins’ movies, though, with the series sitting at a nearly perfect 95% from critics.
