A new era of dinosaurs has been ushered in with Jurassic World Rebirth this summer. The movie starring Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and more, roared into theatres and kept the audiences glued to their seats with thrilling set pieces and a humane story at its core. Now, fans will be soon able to enjoy the film at the leisure of their home as the movie sets its digital release.
Jurassic World Rebirth will be available on all major platforms this August, a month after its theatrical run, per ComicBook. The movie broke all expectations in its opening weekend and has turned profitable despite divisive reviews. It’s continuously racing past other high-octane movies like Brad Pitt’s F1 and is making and breaking records, including making Johansson the highest-grossing star in history. So, by the time it arrives on the digital platforms, the movie would have made all its money and then some more.
What’s ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ About?
The movie follows Zora Bennett (Johansson), who leads a team of skilled operatives to an island research facility for the original Jurassic Park. Considered the most dangerous place on Earth, their mission is to secure genetic material from the park’s dinosaurs, whose DNA can provide life-saving benefits to humans. Things take a turn when the team soon makes a sinister, shocking discovery that’s been hidden from the world for decades.
Directed by Gareth Edwards from a script written by David Koepp, Jurassic World Rebirth serves as a standalone sequel to Jurassic World Dominion, marks the fourth Jurassic World film and the seventh installment overall in the Jurassic Park franchise. The feature is closer to the original 1990 film in its tone than the follow-ups and has garnered mixed Rotten Tomatoes ratings as critics deem it fresh at 52 percent, while the audience rating is much higher at 72 percent.
The movie has a line-up full of power-packed performers that include Mahershala Ali as Duncan, Bailey as Dr. Henry Loomis, Rupert Friend as Martin, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Reuben, Luna Blaise as Teresa, and David Iacono as Xavier. Further rounding off the cast are Audrina Miranda as Isabella, Ed Skrein as Bobby, Bechir Sylvain as LeClerc, and Philippine Velge as Nina.
Jurassic World Rebirth is in theatres now. It will be available on digital movie platforms on August 5. Check out the trailer above and stay tuned to Collider for more such updates.
