If you’re looking for an excuse to replay Cyberpunk 2077, how about the prospect of starting a new game with a brand-new lifepath? If a fresh start sounds like just what you’re looking for, you’ll definitely want to check out Cyberpunk 2077: Fresh Start.
As it stands, Cyberpunk 2077 has three lifepaths for you to choose from when you start your journey in Night City. These are basically origins for your character, that have some (but not much) effect on dialogue options throughout the game. You also get a different playable prologue depending on your choice. You can choose to be a born-and-raised Night City Streetkid (the only correct choice in my opinion), a slimy Corpo, or a wandering Nomad. Now, however, there’s a fourth option.

Created by Deceptious, Cyberpunk 2077: Fresh Start is an impressive mod that introduces a fourth lifepath and prologue. This new lifepath is a Corpo/Nomad hybrid that gives you access to both of those individual lifepath dialogue options throughout the entire game. It also includes a new opening sequence set before the six-month montage and just before the game really starts. In this new prologue, V lands at the Orbital Air terminal and is picked up by Misty, Jackie, and Vik.
Deceptious even recently made some updates to the mod to include a unique fourth slot in the game’s loading animation, which is a very nice touch. Since the mod’s official release last year, it’s had over 250,000 downloads, which is a testament to its popularity.
I’ll be honest, I’ve been feeling the urge to go and start up a new game of Cyberpunk 2077 for a while now, so I’m taking this as my sign to give the bonus fourth lifepath a whirl. What do I have to lose? Aside from another 100 hours of my life.
Cyberpunk 2077’s Sequel Is Coming
Fresh Start should keep you busy
Cyberpunk 2077‘s sequel is being worked on, although The Witcher 4 is the current priority over at CD Projekt RED. In other words, Fresh Start should help to keeo you busy while we wait for the next official installment.
If you really can’t contain your excitement, there are plenty of other Cyberpunk 2077 mods like the one above to keep you busy. There’s an awesome survival mode, for instance, which completely changes how you move through Night City.
